<p><h3>Overview</h3><p>AMJASL235-Java Application Support Lead – AWS</p><p>Client – S&P Global. Location: Canada (Remote). Full-time position with Altimetrik. This is an urgent remote role requiring immediate availability.</p><h3>Responsibilities</h3><ul><li>Provide Java-based application support focusing on microservices, Spring Boot, and AWS.</li><li>Diagnose and debug issues using thread dumps, memory analysis, and DB performance monitoring.</li><li>Monitor production systems using cloud-native tools and log aggregations (e.g., Splunk, CloudWatch).</li><li>Lead incident and problem management activities; coordinate with stakeholders and mentor junior team members.</li><li>Participate in on-call rotations to ensure 24/7 coverage as required.</li></ul><h3>Qualifications</h3><ul><li>Minimum 10+ years in L1/L2 support or a similar role with incident, problem, change, and service request management.</li><li>Hands-on experience with AWS services (EC2, EKS, S3, RDS, Lambda, AWS Transfer Family, etc.) and Java Spring Boot microservices.</li><li>Strong ITIL foundation and experience with cloud monitoring tools (e.g., Splunk, AWS CloudWatch, Datadog).</li><li>Proficiency in scripting/automation (Python, Bash, YAML, Terraform) is a plus.</li><li>Understanding of Java applications in cloud environments; ability to troubleshoot and diagnose complex issues.</li></ul><h3>Technical Expertise</h3><ul><li>Cloud-native application support in AWS with strong production troubleshooting and RCA skills.</li><li>Experience with monitoring and observability tools; ability to identify performance bottlenecks.</li><li>Familiarity with automation and scripting; strong problem-solving mindset.</li></ul><h3>Soft & Leadership Skills</h3><ul><li>Strong leadership, mentoring, and stakeholder communication abilities.</li><li>Attention to detail, ownership, and accountability for production stability.</li></ul><h3>Other Requirements</h3><ul><li>Willingness to work in rotating shifts for 24/7 support, including nights, weekends, and holidays as required.</li></ul><h3>Eligibility & Application Steps</h3><p>If interested, please provide the following documents to hrsmss@smsoftconsulting.com.
