<p><h3>Overview</h3><p>Java Application Support Lead – AWS for S&P Global. This is an urgent remote role; location listed as Canada with remote eligibility.</p><h3>Responsibilities</h3><ul><li>Provide L1 & L2 support for Java, Java microservices, Spring Boot applications in AWS.</li><li>Debug and troubleshoot issues by examining thread dumps, memory leaks, DB performance, and other production problems; perform root cause analysis.</li><li>Monitor and support cloud environments using tools such as AWS CloudWatch, Splunk, and Datadog.</li><li>Participate in Incident, Problem, Change, and Service Request Management following ITIL practices.</li><li>Collaborate with stakeholders across technical and non-technical teams; lead and mentor team members as required.</li><li>Support a 24/7 environment with rotating shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.</li></ul><h3>Required Skills & Qualifications</h3><ul><li>10+ years of experience in L1/L2 support roles (Incident Management, Problem Management, Service Request Management) with troubleshooting in cloud environments.</li><li>Solid hands-on experience with AWS services (EC2, EKS, S3, RDS, Lambda, AWS Transfer Family, etc.), Java Spring Boot microservices, and cloud monitoring tools.</li><li>Strong ITIL background—Incident, Problem, Change, and Request Management.</li></ul><h3>Technical Expertise</h3><ul><li>Deep understanding of cloud-native application support in AWS.</li><li>Experience with application monitoring tools (AWS CloudWatch, Splunk, Datadog).</li><li>Strong troubleshooting and RCA skills in production environments.</li><li>Familiarity with troubleshooting methodologies for cloud infrastructure.</li><li>Proficiency in scripting/automation (Python, Bash, YAML, Terraform) is a plus.</li><li>Understanding of Java applications in cloud environments.</li></ul><h3>Problem-Solving & Troubleshooting</h3><ul><li>Ability to diagnose and resolve complex issues in cloud-based infrastructure and applications.</li><li>Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving under pressure.</li></ul><h3>Soft Skills</h3><ul><li>Leadership and mentoring capabilities.</li><li>Excellent verbal and written communication with technical and non-technical stakeholders.</li><li>Attention to detail and proactive problem-solving; ownership of production stability.</li></ul><h3>Shift Requirement</h3><ul><li>Flexibility to work rotating shifts to ensure 24/7 coverage, including nights, weekends, and holidays as required.</li></ul><h3>Application Instructions</h3><p>Interested candidates should contact hrsmss@smsoftconsulting.com.
