<p><h3>Overview</h3><p>AMJASL235-Java Application Support Lead – AWS. Client – S&P Global. This is a remote role with potential Canada location considerations. Full-time with Altimetrik.</p><h3>Responsibilities</h3><ul><li>Provide L1 & L2 Java application support with focus on cloud environments (AWS).</li><li>Troubleshoot production issues, including debugging thread dumps, memory leaks, and database performance problems.</li><li>Monitor applications using tools such as AWS CloudWatch, Splunk, and Datadog.</li><li>Lead incident management, problem management, change management, and service request handling in line with ITIL practices.</li><li>Collaborate with stakeholders across technical and non-technical teams; communicate status and RCA findings clearly.</li><li>Mentor junior team members and drive reliability for production systems.</li><li>Support 24/7 coverage through rotating shifts as required.</li></ul><h3>Qualifications & Technical Expertise</h3><ul><li>Minimum 10+ years in a similar L1/L2 support role with incident, problem, and service request management; strong troubleshooting in cloud environments.</li><li>Hands-on experience with AWS services (EC2, EKS, S3, RDS, Lambda, AWS Transfer Family, etc.) and Java Spring Boot microservices.</li><li>Strong knowledge of ITIL practices: Incident, Problem, Change, and Request Management.</li><li>Proficiency with application monitoring tools (AWS CloudWatch, Splunk, Datadog).</li><li>Strong debugging, RCA, and production-support skills.</li><li>Familiarity with scripting/automation (Python, Bash, YAML, Terraform) is a plus.</li><li>Ability to understand and diagnose Java-based applications in a cloud environment.</li></ul><h3>Soft Skills</h3><ul><li>Leadership and mentoring capabilities; effective communicator with technical and non-technical stakeholders.</li><li>Detail-oriented, proactive, and takes ownership of production stability.</li></ul><h3>Additional Details</h3><ul><li>Shift requirement: rotating shifts to ensure 24/7 coverage (nights, weekends, holidays as needed).</li><li>Office location: Canada (Remote).</li></ul><h3>Eligibility & Application</h3><p>To apply, submit the following documents via hrsmss@smsoftconsulting.com:</p><ul><li>Updated resume (Word format) – Mandatory</li><li>Skills matrix and references – Mandatory</li><li>Expected hourly rate – Mandatory</li><li>Visa status – Mandatory</li><li>LinkedIn ID – Mandatory</li></ul><p>Without mandatory documents, a candidate cannot be submitted.
