Job Description
<p><strong>Volunteer Position</strong></p><p><u>Position(s) Available</u><br></p><ul><li>LLCU DSC Co-Presidents (2)</li></ul><p>A Department Student Council President advocates on behalf of the students in their department. In addition, the DSC President is the leader of a committee of undergraduate students that is responsible for the planning and execution of events tailored to their specific department. The DSC Co-Presidents report to the ASUS Academics Commissioner.</p><p><em><strong>Applications will remain open until a competitive candidate pool is established. The closing date will be determined based on the volume and quality of received applications</strong><strong>.</strong></em></p><p><strong>Time Commitment and Remuneration</strong></p><p>Approximately an 11 month-term from March 2025 to April 2026.<br></p><p>Please see <em>Part 3: Hiring</em> in the <a href="#"><strong>HR Policy Manual</strong></a> for in-depth eligibility criteria for the position pertaining to academic standing, work-study positions, exchange status, etc.<br></p><p><strong>Time Commitment and Responsibilities</strong><br></p><ul><li>Advocate for the interests of students in their respective department</li><li>Organize, promote, and execute academic and social events for the department</li><li>Prepare for and attend every Arts and Science Faculty Board</li><li>Coordinate administration of USAT evaluations</li><li>Submit a budget, strategic plan, and constitution to the Academics Commissioner</li><li>Participate in DSC Assembly, to be held once a month</li><li>Attend a monthly meeting with the Academics Commissioner or the Deputy Academics Commissioner</li><li>Follow all provisions in the DSC Charter</li></ul><p>If there are any questions, concerns, or personal accommodations required during the application process, please contact the Academics Commissioner, Giulia Iacobucci, at academics.@ asus.queensu.ca, or Owen Miaskowski, the ASUS Human Resources Officer, at hro@ asus.queensu.ca.</p><p><strong>ASUS Office</strong></p><p>Phone: (613)-533-6000 x75441</p><p>Our hours are Monday to Friday from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm.</p>Create Your Resume First
