Job Summary:
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Respite Worker/Life Skills Worker to provide care and support to individuals in need of respite services. The ideal candidate will have experience in one or more of the following areas; child care, autism spectrum disorder, patient care, medication administration, and assisting with daily living activities.



Responsibilities:
– Depending on the age and need of person seeking respite; play games, clean, go on outings, companion services, help with shopping, babysitting, etc.

-Assist clients with activities of daily living, including meal preparation, personal hygiene, and mobility assistance
– Provide companionship and emotional support to clients
– Maintain a clean and safe environment for clients
– Assist with light housekeeping tasks
– Follow care plans and communicate effectively with healthcare providers

Skills:
The ideal candidate should possess the following skills:


-Basic knowledge of Autism Spectrum Disorder
– Experience in patient care and assisting individuals with dementia, assisted living, or hospice care
– Strong communication and interpersonal skills
– Compassionate and empathetic approach to caregiving
-Patient, understanding, and not judgemental

Job Types: Part-time, Fixed term contract
Contract length: 6 months



Pay: $22.50-$30.00 per hour

Expected hours: 5 – 20 per week


Education:

  • Secondary School (preferred)

Licence/Certification:

  • Class 5 Licence (preferred)
