<p>We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented <b>Regulatory Affairs Specialist</b> to join our team in Ontario. This position plays a critical role in ensuring compliance with all applicable Canadian federal and provincial food regulations, including those from the CFIA, Health Canada, and other regulatory bodies. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in food regulations, labelling requirements, and regulatory submissions, with specific experience in the bakery or food manufacturing sector.</p><p><br></p><p><b>Key Responsibilities:</b></p><ul><li>Ensure compliance with all federal and provincial food safety and regulatory requirements (CFIA, Health Canada, FDA where applicable).</li><li>Review, approve, and maintain product labelling, packaging, and nutritional claims in accordance with the Canadian Food and Drug Regulations (FDR), Safe Food for Canadians Regulations (SFCR), and applicable standards.</li><li>Develop and maintain regulatory documentation, including ingredient statements, allergen declarations, and product specifications.</li><li>Act as the regulatory lead during product development to ensure all new formulations meet Canadian regulatory and labelling requirements.</li><li>Communicate with internal departments (R&D, QA, Marketing, Sales) to ensure regulatory alignment throughout the product lifecycle.</li><li>Monitor regulatory changes in Canada and international markets and advise the business of any impacts.</li><li>Prepare and support submissions and registrations required for product launches, certifications, or export documentation.</li><li>Support responses to regulatory inspections, audits, and inquiries from the CFIA or third-party certification bodies.</li><li>Maintain databases and regulatory files to ensure up-to-date and accessible compliance information.</li><li>Assist with training internal staff on regulatory standards, changes, and best practices.</li></ul><p><br></p><p><b>Qualifications:</b></p><p><b>Education & Experience:</b></p><ul><li>Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Regulatory Affairs, Nutrition, Microbiology, or a related field.</li><li>Minimum 3-5 years of regulatory affairs experience in the food manufacturing industry, ideally in baked goods or similar categories.</li><li>Strong knowledge of Canadian food regulations, including FDR, SFCR, CFIA guidelines, and bilingual labelling requirements (English/French).</li><li>Experience with U.S. FDA food labelling is an asset.</li></ul><p><br></p><p><b>Skills & Competencies:</b></p><ul><li>Excellent written and verbal communication skills.</li><li>Highly organized and capable of managing multiple projects and timelines.</li><li>Strong attention to detail and accuracy, particularly in documentation.</li><li>Proficient in Microsoft Office and regulatory database systems.</li><li>Ability to interpret scientific data and technical documents.</li><li>Bilingual (English/French) is an asset.</li></ul><p><br></p><p><br></p><p><br></p><p><b>Join a leading bakery manufacturer and help us ensure regulatory excellence while bringing delicious and compliant products to market.</b></p><p><b>Apply today!</b></p><p></p>
