Location: Based in Vancouver. Hybrid Structure (Remote + Office, as needed)

Salary: $60,000 annual salary + bonus and extended health care benefits

Overview:

The Manager of Special Projects will handle a broad and diverse range of responsibilities and assignments both internally and externally that help advance our food recovery work. This newly-created position will be responsible for overseeing the planning and execution of various special projects that are of strategic importance to the organization, including our signature Regional Food Recovery network program.

You Will:
  • Develop and oversee project work plans to ensure tasks are completed on time and in accordance with their project success charter.
  • Delegate work and assignments to team members based on expertise, work experience, and time constraints.
  • Act as a liaison between the company, customers, and stakeholders.
  • Organize and participate in external stakeholder meetings, including meetings with Corporate Head Offices, government agencies and our charity/farmer networks.
  • Remain abreast of key trends and developments relevant to key program areas
  • Collaborate with the communications team to provide training and information required to promote and sell new projects, programs, and systems.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, local, industry, contractual, and company regulations, standards, specifications, and best practices.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

You Have:
  • At least 8 years of related experience required.
  • Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously, knowing how to prioritize and adjust timetables based on demand and other circumstances
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field. PMP, PgMP, CAPM, and/or comparable project management certifications are highly desirable.
  • Ability to absorb high volume of information from a variety of sources and to synthesize the key elements
  • High energy and a passionate commitment to our food waste reduction goals
  • Proficient at public speaking and stakeholder engagement.
  • Familiarity with Salesforce and ability to learn new digital tools
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines
  • Collegial, team-oriented, willing to pitch in as needed and support challenges at all times with a high level of flexibility
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate.
  • Thorough understanding of or the ability to quickly learn about the project or product being developed.
  • Ability to travel locally (Covid restrictions apply)
