Reporting to the Director, Philanthropy & Donor Relations, the Philanthropy Advisor (PA), Corporate and Foundation Relations is responsible for working with corporations and foundations, locally, regionally and nationally to advance research, support students, and enrich programs across campus. This position will work at the intersection of philanthropy, corporate citizenship, partnership-building, and sponsorship to help shape the future of our University through strategic engagement with our corporate and foundation partners. You’ll collaborate with senior academic leaders and a growing team of Philanthropy Advisors with unique and focused portfolios, all contributing to the larger philanthropic, engagement and revenue generation goals of the University.</p><p><b>Duties:</b></p><h3>Responsibilities</h3><p>Raising Funds in Support of Institutional Priorities (70%):</p><ul><li>Utilize the Moves Management fundraising philosophy to manage a prospect/donor portfolio of 125-150 foundations, organizations and corporations with capacity to give up to $100,000.</li><li>Engage in ongoing cultivation, timely visitation, and solicitation efforts. Spend a significant amount of time out of the office in direct interaction with donors and prospects, helping constituents fulfill their passions and interests through giving or partnership with the University.</li><li>Occasional travel in Lethbridge and throughout Southern Alberta is required.</li><li>Track donor data, including contact reports, actions, proposals, and deadlines in the Raiser's Edge database.</li></ul><p>Building, Leading and Advancing a Corporate and Foundation Strategy (30%):</p><ul><li>Help shape the university’s corporate giving and sponsorship strategy and contribute to the sponsorship and naming program around key signature events (e.g., Let There Be Light Night, PUBlic Professor Series, Vibe Fest, Play Day, and more).</li><li>Develop materials to support a corporate and foundation solicitation and stewardship strategy (proposals, impact reports, letters of inquiry, briefings, etc.).</li><li>Design a creative and systematic approach for recognizing and stewarding donors and partners; manage sponsor recognition and fulfillment.</li><li>Collaborate with Data and Information Services and Financial Services to create processes and systems to accurately collect, track and process sponsorships, naming fees, and other gifts.</li></ul><p>The University of Lethbridge is undertaking a job classification and compensation review for Administrative Professional Officer (APO) positions. As such, the salary range currently assigned for this position may be adjusted as a result of this project.</p><h3>Position Qualifications</h3><ul><li>Some post-secondary education required, with a University undergraduate or graduate degree preferred.</li><li>Working towards or recognized professional fundraising designation (CFRE or equivalent) an asset.</li><li>Minimum three years of progressive experience and demonstrated success managing and growing revenue and relationships in a sales or philanthropy environment. Experience leading or managing corporate community investment, social impact, or ESG-related programs within large corporations, including experience with strategic partnerships, sponsorships, and/or corporate giving initiatives is preferred.</li><li>Experience developing and implementing strategic plans, project planning, budget and revenue forecasting, program analysis, and meeting objectives is preferred.</li><li>Recognized leader in managing long-term and productive relationships with donors, customers, volunteers, colleagues, and organizational leaders.</li><li>Proven experience demonstrating effective hands-on skills in organizing, motivating, and directing staff and volunteers to achieve shared priorities.</li><li>Excellent communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills. Comfortable interacting with staff, students, donors, and corporate and foundation partners.</li><li>Planning skills to propose new initiatives and to improve efficiency of current services or operations.</li><li>Proven ability to work across multiple departments and portfolios within an organization.</li><li>Clear understanding of and strict adherence to ethical fundraising standards.</li><li>Result-oriented with a desire to deliver high-quality solutions under demanding timelines.</li><li>Experience working as part of a campaign effort with a view toward satisfying future campaign needs of the organization.</li><li>A satisfactory Criminal Record Check is required (or is in process of being completed) prior to employment.</li><li>The successful candidate must be based in Lethbridge or be willing to commute to Lethbridge at least three days per week, and must have the ability to travel to Calgary from time to time.</li></ul><p><b>Starting Salary Range (at 1.0 FTE):</b> $65,153.16 - $81,963.08 annually</p><p><b>Full Salary Range (at 1.0 FTE):</b> $65,153.16 - $98,772.99 annually (APO - Grade 3)</p><p><b>Campus:</b> Lethbridge</p><p><b>Employment Group:</b> APO</p><p><b>Position Category:</b> Other</p><p><b>Open Date:</b> 09/24/2025</p><p><b>Close Date:</b> Open Until Filled</p><p><b>Desired Start Date:</b> 11/03/2025</p><p><b>Position End Date (if temporary):</b> 11/02/2027</p><p><b>Special Instructions to Applicants:</b> Employment Equity</p><p>The University of Lethbridge invites applications from all qualified candidates; however, in accordance with Canadian immigration requirements, Canadian citizens and permanent residents will be given preference.</p><p>The University of Lethbridge is committed to providing an inclusive and barrier-free work environment, including through all aspects of the hiring process.
