We believe that better business practice means a better Canada and that a better Canada means a better world.**Position Purpose** Provides strategic and operational leadership in developing, planning and implementing integrated marketing and communication strategies to enhance visibility and maximize the reputation of uOttawa’s Telfer School of Management and its various units. Manages the intake, strategy development, prioritization, execution and measurement of end-to-end strategies. Acting as the point of entry for all Telfer units and a strategic advisor to stakeholders, the incumbent will work with subject matter experts on the marketing communications team to bring projects to life.**In this role, you will:*** Participates in the development of Telfer’s strategic plans. Leads development of strategic marketing communication plans and messaging for all of Telfer’s units and priorities, acting as the key contact for each unit and collaborating with the marketing-communications team to plan and execute and deliver on objectives.* Builds relationships with stakeholders to gather feedback and refine strategies, factoring in Telfer priorities, sequencing work, risk and scope management.* Builds and maintains program roadmaps, translating initiatives and projects into clear requirements, and documenting end-to-end project plans for teams to execute on.* Defines priorities, systems and processes, adopting various tactics and methods and establishing key performance indicators to effectively manage workflow and deliver on Telfer’s priorities.* Develops and executes on marketing strategies that enhance the visibility and reputation of Telfer School of Management and its priorities with internal and external stakeholders. Establishes measurable marketing goals and evaluation tools to identify strengths and weaknesses. Ensures that strategies are translated into concrete action plans and that the best interests of Telfer and its units are upheld.* Elaborates, manages and controls the marketing and communications budget to ensure the optimal use of resources to meet Telfer’s priorities and goals effectively and efficiently.* Directs all aspects of human resources management of team members including recruitment, training and development, performance management, resource planning, goal setting, discipline etc. Ensures the team has the training and tools needed to do their jobs efficiently and effectively.* Provides advice and guidance to Telfer’s senior leadership on overarching strategy and operationalization that will ensure optimum results in the promotion of their programs and initiatives.* Analyzes problems, monitors competitive intelligence and internal and external trends to provide recommendations to meet stakeholder needs and advance the Telfer brand, aligned with best practice.**What you will bring:*** Bachelor's degree in a related field, or an acceptable equivalent combination of education and experience. A Master’s degree would be considered an asset.* 7 years of experience in a similar role* 5 years of leadership and management experience in marketing and communications* Extensive experience in the development and implementation of strategic communications and marketing plans, including brand & creative services, digital strategies, content, advertising and events management.* Experience in Human Resources management, team management, conflict resolution, negotiation and project management* Seasoned individual with demonstrated ability in problem solving, priority setting and meeting deadlines* Proven abilities in building partnerships and/or collaborative working relationships with a wide variety of internal and external stakeholders* Ability to work under pressure, adapt easily and rapidly and use excellent judgment and discretion* Commitment to achieving the highest quality results and excellence in customer service* Demonstrated initiative, autonomy and excellent leadership skills to foster commitment and co-operation within the team* Experience in public speaking and public relations* Excellent interpersonal skills and communication skills (written and verbal) in English and French**Key Competencies at uOttawa:** Here are the required competencies for all or our employees at uOttawa: **Planning:** Organize in time a series of actions or events in order to realize an objective or a project.
