Regular Full Time : 1.0 FTE

BC Cancer – Vancouver is the largest treatment facility within BC Cancer, collaborating closely with the BC Cancer Research Institute (BCCRI) and Vancouver General Hospital (VGH). Our department has 32 Medical Oncologists and a reputation for clinical excellence and academia. Vancouver Cancer Centre offers comprehensive services including radiation oncology, surgical oncology, diagnostic imaging, pathology, oral oncology, supportive care, functional imaging, and inpatient care.



Position Overview

As a Hematologist and / or Medical Oncologist, you will provide quality cancer care, with clinical experience in lymphoid malignancies required. Preference is given to candidates with additional research training or clinical fellowship beyond residency. The role involves treating patients with lymphoid malignancies within the Lymphoma and Myeloma Tumour Group.

Academic and Teaching Responsibilities


You will support the Vancouver Medical Oncology Program and UBC Medical Oncology Training Program, including teaching postgraduate and undergraduate trainees. Contributing to the academic productivity of the Lymphoma and Myeloma Tumour Group is expected.


Qualifications

  • Fellowship in the Royal College of Physicians & Surgeons of Canada in Internal Medicine, with a Certificate of Special Competence in Hematology and / or Medical Oncology.
  • Eligibility for licensing with the College of Physicians & Surgeons of British Columbia and credentialing by BC Cancer’s Professional Advisory Committee.
  • Eligible for a clinical appointment in the Division of Medical Oncology at UBC.
  • Must hold a valid license to practice medicine in Canada.

  • Commitment to reconciliation and understanding of Indigenous issues, cultural safety, and anti-racism.
  • Knowledge of systemic racism and initiatives to promote Indigenous cultural safety.
