About the Role:

We are recruiting on behalf of a well-established property management client located in North York. This full-time, permanent Director of Finance role is a critical leadership position responsible for financial planning, control, reporting, and strategic analysis. You’ll play a key part in delivering timely and accurate financial information to support the executive team and Board of Directors in decision-making processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct monthly analytical review of balance sheet reconciliations and subsidiary ledgers
  • Perform monthly variance analysis against budget
  • Oversee preparation of year-end audit working papers and support external audit processes
  • Review and distribute accurate financial reports to the Board of Directors
  • Attend Board meetings as needed
  • Supervise accounts receivable, accounts payable, and cash receipt functions
  • Maintain and update manuals for accounting procedures and policies
  • Coach, mentor, and manage accounting team members, including performance reviews
  • Review and authorize cheque preparation
  • Ensure financial security through internal controls and regular data backups
  • Maintain banking and reserve accounts, monitor investments, and review bank statements
  • Stay current on tax laws, financial regulations, and industry practices
  • Provide ad hoc financial analysis and support special projects as requested

Required Qualifications:


  • University degree in Accounting, Finance or related field preferred
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in an accounting leadership role
  • Previous experience in condominium or property management accounting is highly preferred
  • Strong understanding of GAAP, tax laws, and regulatory requirements
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite, particularly Excel and Word
  • Strong communication and leadership skills
  • Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
  • Must be able to successfully pass a background check
