<h3>Job Description</h3><p>Job Description<p><br /><strong>Estimator </strong><br /><strong>General Contractor</strong><br /><strong>Commercial Construction </strong><br /><strong>New Build &Tennant Improvement </strong><br /><strong>Winnipeg, MB</strong><br /><strong></strong><strong><em>$120,000 - $130,000</em></strong><br><br>Estimator Duties & Responsibilities:<br><br>• Determining the scope of work using the tender documents to establish what divisions of work are required and build the requirements in the invitation to bid software.<br />• Establish and maintain good relationships with subtrades to show the market that company appreciates their efforts, wants to secure work with them and help them be profitable and successful.<br />• Undertake full measured quantities / take offs and understand the nuances between the various divisional scopes to build an estimate with accurate splits.<br />• Prepare preliminary construction schedules.<br />• Estimate quantification and costing of general condition requirements, labour, and equipment, including productivities, material, etc.<br />• Analyze potential strategies, advantages, and innovations for the project that help provide a more competitive bid.<br />• Apply labour and equipment productivities to estimates based on historically accurate values and update the database accordingly.<br />• Analyze subcontractor lead letters and bids for irregularities and ensure the full scope of work is included.<br />• Attend site visits to help understand and verify project requirements.<br />• Lead bid closes on small to medium sized projects.<br />• Lead conceptual and budget costs using past project analytics, benchmarking, and historical data.<br />• Develop scopes of work for subcontractors to provide budgeting assistance on small-sized CM projects.<br />• Analyze design criteria and recommend best options based on cost, engineering quality, and availability of materials.<br />• Identify and propose project risk and cost mitigation as well as the potential for project opportunities and cost savings.<br />• Engage in subcontractor post award scope clarification and negotiation.<br />• For small to medium sized projects, lead project handover meetings and participate in project meetings pertinent to ensuring the estimate process will meet established milestones.<br><br>Estimator Qualifications: <br><br>• 3+ years of construction estimating experience or an equivalent combination of technical training and experience.<br />• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, interpersonal skills, and the ability to build and maintain positive relationships.<br />• Adaptable and ability to work in a fast-paced, pressured environment while maintaining high-quality standards and attention to detail.<br />• Excellent time management skills with ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and manage competing demands effectively.<br />• Sound understanding of CCDC construction contracts and documents, drawings, specifications, building practices and building codes.<br />• Demonstrate a competitive passion and high-performance attitude.<br />• Advanced knowledge of trade disciplines and the integration of Mechanical and Electrical systems.<br />• Demonstrated knowledge of budgeting, costing, scheduling, risk management and profitability.<br />• Ability to provide mentorship, guidance, and encouragement to team members in their overall professional development and growth.<br />• Sound judgement and decision-making skills to evaluate options, assess risks, and make timely decisions that support estimating objectives.<br />• Ability to work collaboratively with pre-construction and project teams, subtrades, and stakeholders to achieve estimating and project goals.<br><br>Training<br />• Gold Seal certification -required training to achieve designation<br />• Procore training modules applicable to Estimating role<br />• Suggested training offered through industry associations and educational institutions:<br />o Supervisory and Management Skills<br />o Communications, Negotiation, and Conflict Resolution<br />o Construction Industry Ethics<br />o Construction Risk: Identify, Analyze, Mitigate<br />• Ongoing:<br />o Leadership<br />o Mentorship<br />o Coaching<br><br>Estimator Salary:<br><br>$100,000 - $130,000, annual discretional bonus, medical benefits, health & wellness programs, learning & development, opportunities for professional growth, project stability and diversity<br><br>Estimator Similar Job Titles:<br><br>Junior Estimator<br />Cost Estimator <br />Construction Estimator<br />Senior Estimator<br />Preconstruction <br><br>Interested?<br />Apply below<br><br>Only applicants with the legal right to work in Canada can be considered for this opportunity.<br><br>We thank all those who express interest in this opportunity however only those short-listed we be contacted.</p></p>Create Your Resume First
