This temporary cook position at the Scotiabank Centre in Halifax involves both large-scale event food preparation and restaurant-style cooking. It's a fast-paced role ideal for dependable individuals with cooking experience who can work efficiently in a busy environment.<br><br>
Job Title: Temporary Cook<br> Location: Halifax, NS<br> Shifts Available: Morning | Afternoon | Evening<br> Wage: $20.00 – $25.00 per hour (based on experience)<br><br>
Key Responsibilities:<ul><li>Prepare ingredients and cook food for large events and catering orders.</li><li>Perform restaurant-style cooking tasks such as grilling, sautéing, and frying.</li><li>Follow recipes, portion controls, and food safety guidelines.</li><li>Assist with plating, food presentation, and maintaining clean workstation.</li><li>Support inventory management and proper food storage.</li><li>Maintain a clean, organized, and safe kitchen environment.</li><li>Stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs as needed.<br><br></li></ul>
Requirements:<ul><li>Previous experience in restaurant cooking, catering, or large-scale food prep preferred.</li><li>Strong knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards.</li><li>Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment.</li><li>Physical ability to stand for long periods and handle lifting requirements.</li><li>Flexible availability including mornings, afternoons, evenings, and weekends.</li><li>Must be able to pass a criminal background check.</li><li>Reliable, punctual, and team-oriented.<br><br></li></ul>
