Reason for Term: Educational Leave.</p><p>Shared Health leads the planning and coordinates the integration of patient-centered clinical and preventive health services across Manitoba. The organization also delivers some province-wide health services and supports centralized administrative and business functions for Manitoba health organizations.</p><h3>Position Overview</h3><p>Reporting to the Manager of Specialized Services, Clinical Specialists, the Clinical Specialist addresses key clinical issues by providing clinical expertise and leadership in the areas of clinical practice, consultation, supervision, inter-professional collaboration, education and training, quality improvement, and research. The Clinical Specialist provides leadership in promoting and maintaining excellence in the delivery of relevant, evidence-based clinical interventions within the integrated mental health and addictions (MHA) system. The Clinical Specialist, in alignment with and a champion of health care transformation, will be responsive to broad system needs, including embracing and leading change that improves flow, access, and treatment options for Manitobans. The position functions in a manner consistent with, and supports the Mission, Vision, and Values of Shared Health.</p><h3>Responsibilities</h3><ul><li>Provide clinical expertise and leadership in clinical practice, consultation, supervision, inter-professional collaboration, education and training, quality improvement, and research.</li><li>Promote and maintain excellence in the delivery of evidence-based clinical interventions within the integrated mental health and addictions system.</li><li>Lead change initiatives to improve patient flow, access, and treatment options for Manitobans.</li><li>Support mission, vision, and values alignment with Shared Health.</li></ul><h3>Qualifications and Skills</h3><ul><li>Minimum of four (4) years of clinical practice in community mental health/addictions services.</li><li>Two (2) years of experience in a consultative or supervisory role.</li><li>Skills and experience in staff training and development within a continuous learning environment.</li><li>Experience working with multidisciplinary staff and promoting inter-professional practice.</li><li>Experience in program planning, evaluation and development.</li><li>Master’s degree in a relevant field required; equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.</li><li>Responsible for maintaining and providing proof of active registration with the appropriate registering body.</li></ul><h3>Education</h3><ul><li>Master’s degree in a relevant field required.</li><li>An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.</li></ul><h3>Certification/Licensure/Registration</h3><ul><li>Maintain active registration with the appropriate registering body.</li></ul><h3>Additional Qualifications</h3><ul><li>Knowledge of addictions and mental health fields; advanced practice in clinical assessment and treatment models (e.g., CBT, Motivational Interviewing, Mindfulness, Strengths-Based therapies, Crisis Response, Case Management, Inter-professional Practice, prevention and promotion, service coordination, trauma-informed practice).</li><li>Demonstrated leadership, coaching, and mentoring skills; commitment to quality assurance and inter-professional collaboration.</li><li>Ability to problem-solve in complex situations and develop partnerships for practice development.</li><li>Ability to research, analyze, and summarize complex information to determine action required; ability to maintain effective working relationships with individuals, families, groups, and communities.</li><li>Sensitivity to working with culturally diverse populations; ability to work in a computerized environment; French language skills are an asset.</li><li>Valid Manitoba driver’s license and access to a vehicle.</li><li>Completes and maintains a satisfactory pre-employment security check.</li></ul><h3>Physical Requirements</h3><ul><li>The physical demands are representative of those required to perform essential functions.
