<p><h3>Overview</h3><p><strong>Business Unit Controller</strong></p><p>Take the lead in managing financial reporting, treasury, and budgeting functions while guiding a talented accounting team. Play a key role in delivering insights that drive strategic decisions and support the growth of the business unit.</p><h3>Who – The Company</h3><p>Our client is a well-established organization with a strong reputation for quality products and exceptional customer support. They foster a collaborative, team-oriented culture and are committed to employee growth and development.</p><h3>Responsibilities</h3><ul><li>Lead financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, treasury, and cashflow management for the business unit.</li><li>Oversee month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes including reconciliations, adjusting entries, accruals, eliminations, and working papers.</li><li>Prepare management reports, KPIs, and variance analyses; provide financial perspective to support decision-making.</li><li>Ensure compliance with ASPE, audit, tax, and statutory reporting requirements.</li><li>Manage payroll reconciliation, labour reporting, and bi-weekly submissions in coordination with ADP.</li><li>Oversee customer/vendor setup, payment runs, PO/SO/WO issue resolution, and financing contracts.</li><li>Lead budget and capital planning cycles; prepare forecasts for corporate office.</li><li>Implement and improve financial systems (ERP: GSS, payroll: ADP) and internal controls to safeguard assets.</li><li>Provide financial analysis for operations, equipment sales & rentals, and technical solutions.</li><li>Supervise, coach, and develop accounting team members; conduct performance reviews.</li><li>Promote a collaborative, service-oriented culture with open communication across the business unit and corporate.</li></ul><h3>Qualifications</h3><ul><li>CPA designation required.</li><li>Minimum 5 years’ supervisory experience leading an accounting/finance team.</li><li>Strong technical accounting knowledge and attention to detail.</li><li>Experience with financial reporting, revenue recognition, and compliance under ASPE.</li><li>Manufacturing or project-based industry background preferred (not required).</li><li>Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.</li><li>Proficient with ERP and payroll systems (Global Shop Solutions, ADP experience an asset).</li><li>Driven, entrepreneurial, and collaborative mindset with a hands-on approach in a small-company environment.</li></ul><h3>What we offer</h3><p>How much: $100,000 - $120,000 commensurate with experience + discretionary bonus, RRSP match, extended health, 3 weeks vacation.</p><h3>Where</h3><p>Surrey, 5 days onsite.</p><h3>When & How To Apply</h3><p>Swim Recruiting has been engaged as a trusted recruitment agency partner on this important search.
