<p>Two Rivers Gallery – a vibrant centre for art, culture, and community located on the traditional, unceded territory of the Lheidli T'enneh in Prince George, BC- invites applications for the position of Assistant Curator. Reporting to the Curator, the Assistant Curator plays a key role in advancing the vision and objectives of the Curatorial Program, with a particular emphasis on developing exhibitions featuring regional emerging artists. The position involves exhibition installation, program collaboration, and providing broad curatorial and interpretive support.</p><p>Key Responsibilities</p><p><br>• Develop exhibitions and support emerging artists through the exhibition process.</p><p><br>• Prepare artwork and gallery spaces; install and de-install exhibitions in multiple venues, including remote sites.</p><p><br>• Coordinate shipping and receiving; pack/unpack artworks and document uncrating procedures.</p><p><br>• Support curatorial administration: scheduling, contracts, maintaining records, facility preparation, insurance, and return of submissions.</p><p><br>• Liaise with artists and donors to complete acquisition documentation (e.g., registration, transfer of ownership, image licensing) and update the permanent collection database.</p><p><br>• Maintain and update curatorial databases and catalogue files (including Argus).</p><p><br>• Monitor gallery environments and record environmental data (e.g., dataloggers) monthly.</p><p><br>• Collaborate with programming staff to create engaging interpretation and public programs.</p><p><br>• Help maintain and clean collection areas; supervise and train volunteers and students for exhibition changeovers.</p><p><br>• Attend and assist with exhibition openings and related events.</p><p><br>• Participate as a member of the Emergency Response Team.</p><p><br>• Conduct studio visits and liaise with artists and artist groups as required.</p><p><br>• Assist with the care and management of the permanent collection, including preparing related forms and applications.</p><p>Qualifications</p><p><br>• Knowledge of and interest in contemporary Canadian visual art.</p><p><br>• Understanding of standard museum/gallery practices.</p><p><br>• Post-secondary education in an art-related field (or equivalent combination of education and experience).</p><p><br>• Familiarity with hand and power tools.</p><p><br>• Proficiency with Microsoft Word and the Office suite; comfort working with databases.</p><p><br>• Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.</p><p>Skills & Abilities</p><p><br>• Strong organization, creativity, and teamwork.</p><p><br>• Ability to prioritize and manage multiple concurrent tasks.</p><p><br>• Valid driver's licence.</p><p><br>• Capable of safely lifting and carrying up to 45 lbs (20 kg) during exhibition installations.</p><p>Compensation</p><p>The salary range is $42,000–$46,000 per year, based on experience, for a 37.5-hour work week.</p><p>How to Apply</p><p>Please email a cover letter and resume to Ehsan Mo at with the subject line Assistant Curator.
