We are looking for an Account Director to cover a maternity leave.
At FCB Toronto, the Account Director is a person who understands their client’s needs beyond marketing and looks deeper at the partnership they have with the agency. This person takes a leadership role in strategy and creative development and ensures that they map back to the client’s goals and business challenges. The Account Director is a proactive and effective partner with all cross-functional team members.
We want someone with the ability to champion ideas, inspire great work and effectively defend and persuade the agency POV to the client. Someone who knows a good idea when they see it.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Excellent interpersonal skills rally internal and external agency resources help bring long-term, strategic and creative recommendations to life
- Plays a key role in building client relationships
- Sees the client business through a 360-degree lens and identifies out-of-the-box ideas and opportunities to integrate and expand into other disciplines
- Builds one-on-one relationships with senior level clients to foster a partnership with the agency
- Adopts a proactive approach to anticipating internal and external concerns
- Confidently leads major pieces of business and proactively identifies new business opportunities leading to organic growth
- Leading and coordination of IAT teams and processes
- Collaboration and leading brand planning sessions
- Owns the crucial ability to reactively address and remedy current as well as unanticipated situations
- Directs account and project development process through account, creative, production and digital teams to ensure appropriate resources are available and communication is consistent and timely
- Manages the workload, workflow and professional development of their account team
- Ensures financial performance across projects and accounts i.e. profitability, income and growth
- Contributes to new business development activities and pitches as needed
- Adaptable and able to balance asks and responsibilities
Qualifications
- Has 8+ years of relevant industry experience, with a minimum of 2+ years’ experience at the Account Director level
- Possesses an integrated background with strong brand, digital, social, activation, and analytical experience
- Has the ability to provide big picture strategic thinking, vision and insights to drive big ideas and initiatives
- Possess collaborative leadership skills that encourage team cooperation and motivate relationship-building
- Is self-confident in oral, written, strategic and analytical abilities
- Demonstrates a strong track record of developing and building key partnerships with clients, internal and external teams
- Demonstrates strong, fully developed staff management skills
