Senior Technical Writer -remote anywhere in Canada (Contract Position)

Number of Positions: 1 Filled: 0 Duration: 3 months initial contract

Location: Toronto, ON, CA

Must be eligible to work in Canada

Remote position, can work anywhere in Canada, accommodating EST

T4 rate only

Looking for someone senior who is proactive, can lead, take ownership, reach out internally within the teams to get answers, connect with other writers. They are also looking to set up central repository of documentation with new tools and the tech writer will be involved in migration. Also this person is part of new release planning and deal with very technical engineers.

• 5+ years of experience in developing web-based user documentation for enterprise-grade applications

• Creative and critical thinking skills to help solve internal and customer problems

• The ability to quickly learn about new products, technologies, and tools

• Technical documentation skills that span the complete content development process, to conceptualize, plan, write, illustrate, and develop quality deliverables for production

• Demonstrated UX/UI sensibilities, and a solid understanding of the technical documentation process for creating intuitive online Help for products representing large, complex data sets, enterprise-type workflows, and interactive and intuitive visualizations

• Excellent communication skills beyond user documentation – the ability to present your ideas succinctly and the willingness to engage in constructive debate

• Experience working with markdown or the willingness to learn. If you don’t know markdown that’s fine, but learning it is required

Desired Skills:

• Experience with contemporary development tools such as GitHub, continuous integration, and working with version control in a multiple writer/developer environment

• Proficiency in HTML, CSS, and basic web concepts such as DNS

• Any knowledge of SQL
