*Mandatory Requirements: Must have a valid Ontario Security Guard License*

*Duties*

Security guards employed are to perform a range of duties including access control and assist in the maintenance of good order in the public areas.

Other duties will be related to Safety and Security:

* There is one fixed post at the entry point (First point of contact assessment zone)
* Security guard will monitor/manage the first point of contact assessment zone, which includes monitoring external client line-up
* Access control – Maximum occupant capacity to be determined by Management. Management to provide client appointment list (priority access for clients with appointments, walk-ins based on capacity)
* Screen and monitor clients while maintaining physical distancing protocols
* Ability to clearly speak and understand English (French an Asset)
* Ability to write reports with accurate spelling and grammar in English
* When required, instruct clients to place documents in secure lock box (drop off)
* Promotion of health and safety protocols for all clients/visitors (physical distancing, availability of disinfectant/sanitizing supplies, directional indicators for safe client flow)
* Monitor/ replenish / replace hand sanitizers in first point of contact assessment zone
* Excellent customer service skills
* Ability to think quickly and act rationally
* Security guard to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) provided by Employer or other equipment as indicated

*Security Incidents*

Security guard will never become physically involved with any person in the execution of their duties.

The only exception is the use of force necessary to defend themselves. They are to assist in the maintenance of good order within Employer premises.

*Salary*

$21 – $24 per hour

*Availability*

Hours of Work:

* Hours include 1-hour lunch break and 4-15 minute breaks
* Security guard to notify on-site Employer contact of arrival / departure
* Timing of Lunch and breaks to be determined in discussions with the Manager.

Schedule:

* 12 hour shifts available

Ability to commute/relocate:

* Ottawa, ON: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)

License/Certification:

* Ontario Security Guard License (required)
* Valid Use of Force Certification
* Valid Non Violent Crisis Intervention Certificate (Preferred)
* Valid ASIST or safeTALK Certification (considered an asset)
* Ability to recognize the signs of opioid overdose
* Experience working with vulnerable communities
* Mental Health First Aid Certificate (considered an asset)

Salary: $21.00-$24.00 per hour

Expected hours: 32 – 40 per week
