Salary: $22,842 – $25,958 per year


Position Overview


Reporting to the Program Supervisor, Youth Care Workers are responsible for ensuring client safety and well‑being, participating in client orientation and assessment processes, developing and implementing therapeutic interventions, delivering structured group‑based educational and support programming, planning and delivering recreational programming, assisting clients in the classroom, contributing to ongoing treatment planning, crisis response, medication administration, ensuring facility safety, client transport, reception, and household/maintenance duties including food preparation. Commitment to a client‑centred philosophy and the ability to work as part of a team are essential.

Experience



  • Minimum 2 years of related experience, preferably in substance use and/or mental health treatment.

  • Experience in crisis response is desirable.

  • Knowledge of at‑risk youth (FASD, ADHD, etc.), addictions and mental health.


Education



  • High school diploma – Manitoba Standards (required).

  • Child & Youth Care Certificate or related training desirable.


Certification / Licensure



  • Nonviolent Crisis Intervention and ASSIST training desirable.

  • Valid Class 5 driver’s licence with suitable driving record.

  • Current First Aid / CPR certification required.


Qualifications



  • Strong teamwork and cultural sensitivity.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Strong organizational skills.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, internet and email.

  • Fluency in English (French/Indigenous languages advantageous).

  • Knowledge of Indigenous customs and traditions a plus.


Physical Requirements


Availability for shift work (including days, evenings, and weekends).


Additional Notes


Full‑time positions involve a 4 on/4 off shift rotation (two 7 AM–7 PM, two 7 PM–7 AM, four off). The successful candidate will be responsible for any service charges incurred for criminal record checks (including Vulnerable Sector Search), Child Abuse Registry Check, and Adult Abuse Registry Check. These checks must be current within six (6) months of employment start date.
