Position Summary
The Workers’ Compensation Manager is responsible for managing the workers’ compensation program, ensuring compliance with all relevant laws and regulations, and managing all claims from initial reporting to resolution. The successful incumbent will be responsible for the effective and timely reporting of all WCB claims across Canada (excluding Quebec) while simultaneously working with managers, employees, WCB consultants, safety teams and legal counsel.

Schedule: Mon-Fri, 40 hours
Reporting to: VP, Total Rewards, Payroll & HRIS
What you will do
- Ensure the overall management of all occupational injury cases across the organization from initial reporting to closure.
Ensure that all claims are managed efficiently and in compliance with all laws and regulations. - Guide managers, employees and safety professionals at the organization on the WCB claim process
- Collaborate with stakeholders across the organization on developing strategies for effectively managing the cases
- Act as a first point for all claims internally within our organization and with our WCB consultants
- Develop and implement return-to-work programs and strategies for injured employees, focusing on safe, timely and effective transitions back to work.
- Provide training to management and employees on workers’ compensation policies, injury prevention, and claims reporting procedures
- Analyze claims data and trends to identify potential risks. Prepare regular reports for senior management
What You’ll Bring
- 5 to 7 years of experience in managing workers compensation claims and programs for an organization with locations all across Canada.
- Knowledge of all relevant rules and regulations for each province
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or a related field (or equivalent experience)
- Preference for candidates who have experience in STD & LTD Disability Management also
