Water & Sewer Side Hoe Operator (OUT OF TOWN WORK) Firma Contracting is currently seeking an experienced Side Hoe Operator to work on underground / water & sewer projects located across Western Canada. Duties include (but are not limited to): * Installation of underground utilities * Rehab / replacement work * Work closely with pipe crews to install pipe – ensuring a high level of safety, communication and quality * Adherence to legislation for excavation and trenching requirements * Lower materials to pipe crews using proper rigging mechanisms and procedures * Operate equipment in close proximity to ground personnel and other equipment * Ensure work is always done safely, to the highest quality standard while maintaining strong production * Promote, execute and adhere to the company’s safety program * Daily equipment inspections and maintenance * Conduct oneself in a professional manner with honesty and integrity Required Skills: * 2+ years of experience as a Side Hoe Operator * Municipal underground utility experience is required * Rehab / replacement experience an asset * Exceptionally safety conscious * Able to work independently and follow instruction from the superintendent / foreman * Ability to operate other equipment is an asset * Strong communication skills Required Certifications: * Ground Disturbance Level 2 (required) * CSTS 2020 (required) * WHMIS 2015 (required)
