Anime Universe

Head of Global Talent Acquisition

Equity Partner

Location: Remote (Global)

Commitment: Minimum 20 hours/week

Department: Human Resources

Reports To: Chief People & Culture Officer (CPCO)

What You Put In Is What You Get Out

This isn’t just a title—it’s a stake. You are a senior-level recruitment leader who still loves the craft. You’ll define and execute Anime Universe’s global hiring strategy—hands-on, end-to-end.

From founder-tier searches to scalable systems, your impact will shape who joins us, how they’re hired, and the ROI we generate from every role.

Why This Role Matters

At Anime Universe, hiring is mission-critical. We’re building a radical creative-tech company at the intersection of anime, AI, blockchain, and gaming. That means our talent bar is sky-high—and so is our ambition.

You’ll build a talent acquisition function that attracts world-class builders and maximizes return on recruiting effort, time, and investment.

What You’ll Own

Global Talent Acquisition Strategy

  • Architect and lead a scalable, async-native recruiting engine across all functions
  • Translate company goals into hiring campaigns and headcount plans
  • Own recruiting ROI: reduce time-to-fill, increase conversion, maximize hire quality

Senior-Level/Executive and Niche Recruiting

  • Personally lead searches for founder-tier, technical, creative leadership as well as niche roles
  • Operate as both strategic partner and full-cycle recruiter
  • Align talent strategy with evolving product, IP, and R&D roadmaps

Full-Cycle Execution

  • Write compelling job descriptions and design targeted outbound campaigns
  • Post, source, screen, and close candidates directly
  • Create and run async interview loops and project-based evaluations

Talent Infrastructure & Metrics

  • Implement and optimize recruiting stack (ATS, dashboards, async workflows)
  • Track and improve performance across sourcing, screening, and closing metrics
  • Report on recruiting impact with a focus on velocity, quality, and equity alignment

Talent Brand & Market Visibility

  • Build Anime Universe’s employer brand across Web3, R&D, creative, and frontier-tech channels
  • Design messaging and campaigns that attract values-aligned, high-conviction talent
  • Cultivate referral pipelines and community-driven sourcing networks

How You’ll Collaborate

  • Report to the Chief People & Culture Officer
  • Partner closely with the department heads on recruitment priorities
  • Work with Legal and Finance to align global equity/token comp offers
  • Collaborate with People Ops and onboarding to deliver high-velocity post-hire transitions

Who We’re Looking For

You Are:

  • A senior recruitment leader (Senior Director, VP, or ex-Founder) with proven end-to-end capability
  • A player-coach who leads by doing—strategic, hands-on, and execution-obsessed
  • Experienced with async hiring, distributed teams, and remote-first cultures
  • Relentlessly focused on recruiting ROI: quality, speed, efficiency, and retention
  • We are not looking for a manager/leader of recruitment, we need someone who is willing and capable of posting roles, screening candidates, scheduling candidate meetings etc.

Required Experience:

  • 12+ years in recruiting, with 5+ years in senior leadership roles
  • Deep experience in startups or high-growth orgs at the intersection of creative-tech, gaming, Web3, or R&D
  • Proven success hiring globally across technical, creative, and executive functions
  • Familiarity with equity and token-based compensation models
  • Exceptional storytelling, positioning, and candidate experience skills

Compensation & Culture

  • Equity: Founding Equity Partner shares
  • Tokens: Additional token rewards (pending legal clearance)
  • Salary: Unlocked through revenue and net-income milestones
  • Culture: Remote-first, async-native, high-autonomy, mission-aligned
