Overview:

Global X is looking for a VP, Business Development (Ontario Central) to join our Sales team. This is an opportunity to join one of Canada’s most innovative ETF providers. The successful candidate will be focused on developing and maintaining business relationships in Ontario.

The VP, Business Development, Sales will be based in Toronto, work closely with a Business Development Manager, and have experience in marketing financial products to retail CIRO investment advisors and portfolio managers in their designated region.

The successful candidate will have significant ETF sales experience and a track record of consistently hitting sales and activity expectations. They will also show strong leadership abilities, have an enthusiastic approach to sales, and contribute to the team culture.

Responsibilities:

  • Represent Global X and our products to increase market share and grow assets under management
  • Work with the Business Development Manager and the broader sales team to form and execute a sales strategy for the assigned territory
  • Proactively develop and evolve in a high-performance work environment
  • Develop new business relationships and attract new retail clients
  • Meet with clients virtually and in person, across Central Ontario
  • Develop relationships with branch managers and deliver regular presentations at branches across the territory, solo and/or in collaboration with Global X thought leaders
  • Identify opportunities and present solutions that are suitable for client needs and encourage them to take necessary action

Skills & Experience:


  • Established relationships within the territory
  • Proven track record of success in sales to retail clients within the specified region
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to create a positive rapport with clients over the phone, in person, and virtual meetings
  • The desire to work within an effective team to create and build a successful business
  • Ability to prioritize, organize and execute sales plans
  • Ability and willingness to travel extensively for work
  • Understanding of Canadian financial markets
  • Canadian Securities Course (CSC ) required
  • 5+ years of experience in the financial services industry
  • Undergraduate degree in Finance, Commerce, or Business Administration
  • Completion of (or enrolment in) a financial services program leading to a designation is an asset (e.g. CFA, FCSI, CIM, etc.)
