The YMCA of Three Rivers is celebrating its upcoming 5-year anniversary in October 2025 following unification of the YMCAs of Cambridge & Kitchener Waterloo, Guelph, Stratford, and St. Mary’s to better serve our growing regions. We are seeking a <b>Vice President of Capital & Asset Management</b> who is passionate about building connected, thriving and inclusive communities.</p><p>We are shaping vibrant communities where everyone belongs. With a people-first lens, a focus on financial viability and sustainability, and a deep commitment to JAIDE (Justice, Access, Inclusion, Diversity, and Equity) and Well-being, this role leads a team of operational leaders to elevate inclusive, connected, and sustainable spaces across our Y. The Vice President will oversee multi-site capital projects and asset management plans to deliver operational excellence while advancing environmental sustainability goals. The role involves partnering to understand service fundamentals and evaluating environmental impact, and exploring innovative approaches to deliver programs and partnerships beyond traditional methods in collaboration with operational leadership teams.</p><p>A key focus of this role is providing thought partnership and leadership in infrastructure development, asset management planning, financial oversight and risk management for capital investments, while navigating stakeholder engagement required to implement capital asset plans successfully. We recognize the importance of listening, learning and engaging with our communities to advance equity and well-being.</p><p>The YMCA employs nearly 2,000+ people and volunteers and offers a diverse array of programs across our communities, including licensed child care, before- and after-school programs, youth programs, health and wellness centres, employment services, immigrant services, student nutrition programs, WorkWell, EarlyON, summer camps, and more.</p><h3>Key Duties & Responsibilities</h3><h3>Strategic Leadership & Planning</h3><ul><li>Lead the development and execution of long-term capital and asset management strategies aligned with the YMCA’s mission and strategic plan.</li><li>Provide executive oversight for capital planning, infrastructure investment, and real estate development initiatives.</li><li>Collaborate with senior leadership to identify opportunities for growth, renewal, and optimization of YMCA facilities.</li><li>Support the execution and alignment of the Strategic Plan and delivery of operational milestones; oversee the development, implementation and evaluation of key priorities, including annual targets, resource allocation, and complex capital asset investment projects.</li><li>Report regularly to the CEO, Senior Leadership Team and Board of Directors on the strategic plan and oversight of capital asset management planning for each service area.</li><li>Oversee budget development and management, including revenue, expenses and capital investment strategies, and plan for future capital development in alignment with the strategic plan.</li><li>Lead annual budgeting, forecasting and reporting to funders and donors as required to support capital asset management initiatives.</li></ul><h3>Capital Projects & Infrastructure Development</h3><ul><li>Oversee planning, budgeting, and execution of capital projects, including new builds, renovations, and facility upgrades, balancing ongoing work.</li><li>Ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope and on budget, meeting quality and sustainability standards.</li><li>Manage relationships with architects, contractors, consultants, and municipal authorities.</li><li>Build an equity and accountability framework to strengthen JAIDE practices and elevate the Places Pillar in the strategic plan.</li><li>Research trends to improve environmental and sustainability impacts of facilities and services in partnership with service area leaders.</li></ul><h3>Capital Asset Management & Stewardship</h3><ul><li>Develop and implement an asset management framework for long-term sustainability of YMCA properties across multi-site operations.</li><li>Monitor asset condition and performance, ensuring safety, accessibility, and environmental sustainability standards.</li><li>Lead preventative maintenance programs and lifecycle planning.</li><li>Research trends and formulate proactive strategies to achieve the YMCA vision, leveraging the talents of the Association and its people.</li></ul><h3>Capital Investment & Financial Oversight</h3><ul><li>Prepare and manage multi-million-dollar capital budgets related to asset management.</li><li>Identify and mitigate risks associated with capital investments and strategic plan execution.</li><li>Support fundraising and grant applications for capital projects in partnership with the Philanthropy leadership team.</li><li>Oversee capital projects and budgets, including ongoing forecasting, in partnership with Finance leadership.</li><li>Collaborate with operational teams to guide capital investment strategy and ensure alignment with long-term asset management goals.</li></ul><ul><li><b>Careholder Engagement & Reporting</b> – Serve as the primary liaison with diverse careholders, including the Board of Directors and senior leadership, on capital and asset matters. Build trust-based relationships with service area leaders to deliver on capital and asset management mandates and ensure open communication and alignment of priorities.
