UX/UI Designer

Job Description

Location: Toronto

Type: Full-Time

Reports to: CEO

About the Role

We're looking for a world-class UX/UI Designer who brings together structured UX thinking, sharp product intuition, and the ability to deliver exceptionally polished, production-ready design.

This role blends deep UX research with rapid prototyping and high-fidelity UI execution. Some days you'll explore user insights, map flows, or validate concepts; other days you'll move quickly to refine layouts or elevate the visual quality of existing screens. You're comfortable switching between modes - and you take real pride in making every pixel feel intentional.

If you're excited by the challenge of designing within a complex domain like wealth management - and you bring a structured approach that makes complicated things feel simple - you'll thrive here.

What you'll do

  • Shape core user experiences: Own end-to-end UX across advisor workflows, client portal, and operational processes.
  • Create beautiful, production-ready UI that is clean, elegant, and visually consistent across the product.
  • Conduct focused UX research: Interview users, run lightweight tests, gather insights, and translate findings into clear UX direction.
  • Prototype at different fidelities: Move fluidly between low-fi explorations, mid-fi flows, and polished, developer-ready UI.
  • Improve existing screens: Identify opportunities to refine usability, reduce friction, enhance clarity, or simplify choices.
  • Collaborate deeply: Work closely with product and engineering to define flows, edge cases, and interaction details.
  • Maintain design systems: Contribute to consistent patterns, components, spacing, and interaction rules across the product.
  • Bring structure to complexity: Turn intricate workflows (KYC, onboarding, account opening, planning flows) into intuitive, guided experiences.
  • Deliver with pace: Help the team test ideas quickly and iterate meaningfully while keeping user experience quality high.

You're Perfect for This If You

  • You're equally comfortable with deep UX thinking and quick prototyping.
  • You bring clarity and structure to ambiguous problem areas.
  • You enjoy understanding how real users behave - especially advisors and clients - and designing around their mental models.
  • You care deeply about precision, spacing, readability, and interaction details.
  • You're collaborative, open to feedback, and like working with product and engineering to refine solutions.
  • You thrive in an environment where some projects require research and exploration, while others need fast iteration and incremental improvements.
  • You have a strong sense of ownership over the quality and consistency of the product experience.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience in UX/UI design for SaaS products, ideally B2B or workflow-heavy tools.
  • Strong portfolio demonstrating clean, intuitive design work and well-reasoned UX decisions.
  • Experience with Figma, design systems, component libraries, prototyping, and user research methods.
  • Ability to break down complex workflows and design clear, guided experiences.
  • Bonus: Exposure to fintech, wealth management, CRM systems, or data-heavy apps.

What Success Looks Like

  • Product experiences feel simpler, clearer, and more intuitive, even as we add depth and capability.
  • Research insights translate into better flows, fewer steps, and more confidence for users.
  • New concepts are prototyped rapidly, tested quickly, and refined intelligently.
  • The design system becomes a strong foundation for consistent, scalable UI.
  • You're the voice of thoughtful, user-centered design - helping the team move fast without sacrificing quality.
