We are looking for an experienced Upholsterer to elevate our production. This individual must have a strong understanding of fabrics/leather materials, and experience reading and understanding shop drawings.
This individual has an aptitude for efficiency and a knack for high quality upholstery from understanding frames to finished product.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Working closely with Project Managers and internal upholstery teams on large scale quantity items, as well as custom pieces.
- Ability to work independently and as a part of a team.
- Able to lift 50+ lbs and stand 8 hours per day.
- Excellent use of manual skills, and hand tools.
- Able to establish quality of work by fixing errors, and providing expertise.
- Possess excellent collaboration and communication skills.
- Adjust/replace webbing, springs, and padding.
- Attach fasteners, buttons, buckles, trim, and other accessories using hand tools.
- Build/prep furniture up with fiber/foam to form smooth surfaces.
- Examine furniture frames, upholstery, springs, and webbing to locate defects.
- Ability to take direction and make changes as per client need.
Qualifications and Competencies:
- 3-5 years of Upholstery experience with a focus on the seating industry.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment on multiple pieces throughout the day.
- Experience upholstering with different materials: Vinyl, Leather, different fabrics.
