Position Summary

The Borescope (Technical) Inspector is responsible for examining and testing parts before, during, and after fabrication in accordance with TKMS quality standards. This role ensures all required inspections are performed, accepted, and signed off before fabrication advances to the next stage, maintaining compliance with ASME codes and client requirements.

Key Responsibilities

Read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and design documents.

Perform visual welding inspections on high purity and pressure piping per ASME BPE and ASME B31.3 standards.

Verify welder coupons for non-accessible welds and maintain the Weld Coupon Log.

Ensure spool welds are properly prepared, marked, and documented (welder ID, date, spool ID, material heat numbers).

Record welds on Weld Logs and Weld Maps.

Ensure compliance with Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS).

Conduct borescope inspections, evaluate welds, and determine acceptability based on ASME codes and client requirements.

Perform dimensional checks, confirm orientations, verify materials, and inspect frames, skids, and structural steel.

Communicate defects to welders and fitters clearly and promptly.

Monitor project Non-Destructive Examination (NDE) requirements.

Manage inspection workload efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

What Were Looking For (Must-Haves)

Minimum 2 years of experience as a welding inspector in a manufacturing or production environment.

Valid CWB Level II Welding Inspector Certification or SNT-TC-1A Visual Testing Level II certification.

Strong knowledge of welding discontinuities and defect acceptance criteria.

Proficiency in precision measurement tools (calipers, micrometers, gauges).

Familiarity with quality metrics (MTBF, Definitions of Done, GDP).

Effective problem-solving and root cause analysis skills.

Strong written and verbal communication abilities.

Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, Access).

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with Weld Logs, Weld Maps, and Coupon Logs.

Exposure to client-facing inspection or validation work.

Previous experience in pharmaceutical, biotech, or food manufacturing environments.
