<p><h3>Overview</h3><p>Starting at $20.20/hour. $15.00 per diem for mileage. Shifts and hours: 3 hours per day (typically half AM and half PM, with occasional 30-minute lunch coverage). Monday to Friday. Contract runs September to June. Reports to: Program Manager – School Safety Zone. Purpose: The Team Lead position will provide necessary duties in “the field” at intersections and routes throughout Brockville, supporting the Adult Crossing Guard (ACG) program within operational school hours.</p><h3>Duties And Responsibilities</h3><ul><li>Conduct all duties and responsibilities of an Adult Crossing Guard when required.</li><li>Provide on-site and remote support to teams in Brockville, address urgent needs, and support staffing or training initiatives.</li><li>Visit specific sites as requested by the Office.</li><li>Effectively communicate with Adult Crossing Guards by answering questions, listening and addressing concerns, building rapport, etc.</li><li>Training and coaching new Adult Crossing Guards.</li><li>Reporting Crossing Guard absenteeism/performance issues to the Program Manager.</li><li>Distribution & Retrieval of Equipment.</li><li>Dispersal of rewards and incentives to the Adult Crossing Guards.</li><li>Acting in the role of Adult Crossing Guard to cover open shifts.</li><li>Comply with all safety requirements and wear all required equipment (provided).</li><li>Maintain a calm and professional demeanor at all times.</li></ul><h3>Position Requirements</h3><ul><li>Must be available to work at all intersections identified in Brockville.</li><li>English Skills.</li><li>Smart Phone.</li><li>Driver's licenses and access to a vehicle.</li><li>Valid Standard First Aid with CPR C certification.</li><li>Confirmation of physical health from a licensed physician may be required. Reference to full manual dexterity and multilimbed coordination essential. Due to the requirements of the position, accommodations due to health may be limited.</li><li>Police Records Check (PRC) with the Vulnerable Sector is required – PRCs can be completed during the application process. Costs associated with the PRC will be reimbursed by the OSC after three (3) months of employment. Employment offer conditional upon a valid and clean PRC.</li></ul><h3>Working Conditions</h3><ul><li>Ability to walk briskly, move repeatedly in and out of the intersection, and stand for up to 1.5 hours.</li><li>Stand and maintain alertness for the entirety of the shift.</li><li>Ability to hold a 5-lb Stop Sign Paddle above shoulder height for extended periods of time.</li><li>20/20 Vision (with or without corrective lenses) along with adequate depth and peripheral perception.</li><li>Accountable to work in all environmental conditions. Environmental conditions may include snowstorms, freezing rain, cold temperatures, rain, heat waves, humidity, hot temperatures and dust, etc.</li><li>Ability to dress appropriately for, and perform moderate physical labour during all weather conditions.</li><li>Hazards associated with high traffic conditions.</li><li>Daily travel within Team Leads designated Zone.</li></ul></p>
