As a Systems Architect on a development program, you will define and coordinate a comprehensive system development logic in line with Safran’s Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) framework. Adopting an overall view of the system throughout its lifecycle, you will ensure that the solution achieves an optimal balance between system requirements, lead times, costs and risks, and that the proposed system architectures are technically robust and meet the customer needs. You will interface with the Program Chief Engineer as a deputy on Systems Engineering activities, and as a technical leader for the Systems Engineering teams across Safran Landing Systems business units over the entire ATA32 lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities: •Identify the system of interest, its interfaces and the stakeholders concerned by its design, production, integration, maintenance and operation •Define the missions of the system, its use cases and safety cases, based on a comprehensive capture of the needs expressed by the stakeholders and the requirements imposed by the environment •Evaluate the completeness of the customer specification; identify the key design drivers, their relative weight, influence and effect on the technical solution and its environment •Develop the overall system requirements based on the customer specification and stakeholder needs •Cascade the system requirements into sub-system requirements in line with the system architecture and considering the Reliability, Availability, Maintainability and Safety (RAMS) aspects •Develop the interface requirements at system and sub-system levels as inputs to the interface design •Develop the system architecture models across the operational, logical and technical layers of Safran’s MBSE framework; conduct the system requirements decomposition and allocation to sub-systems •Propose the system and product breakdown structures to support the development of the requirements and the sub-systems integration •Define and control the interfaces of the system with external systems, and between its sub-systems, for both functional interfaces and physical connections •Converge on a candidate system architecture, through an iterative and collaborative approach with the stakeholders, compliant with their needs, satisfying the system requirements and technically robust •Formalize the justifications for the proposed system architecture and its system requirements allocation rationales; support the sub-systems design in consistency with the proposed system architecture •Compare different technical solutions in terms of architectures, products and technologies, based on a design-to-value approach •Determine the risks and opportunities related to the proposed system architectures; define the policy on associated design margins •Elaborate trade-off score cards for the different solutions; identify quantifiable optimums, and select a preferred system architecture •Systematically conduct change impact analyses throughout the system lifecycle •During in-service operations, manage the changes to the technical definition and configuration of the products in line with the imperatives of maintenance and continued airworthiness of the system •From the preliminary design phases, and throughout the entire ATA32 lifecycle, define and execute a comprehensive system development logic to support the predesign, design and sustaining activities •Ensure Safran’s MBSE, RAMS and IVVQ (Integration, Validation, Verification and Qualification) processes are deployed on the project, and compliant with the applicable regulations and standards •Optimize the application of the ARP4754A recommendations to the project & propose an IVVQ strategy for the project.
