<p>Sureway Construction is one of Alberta’s largest heavy construction contractors, with over 50 years’ experience, involved in; civil earthworks and grading, utilities and offsite, mine operation and aggregate extraction.</p><p><u>Job Type :</u> Full-time, seasonal</p><p><u>Schedule :</u> 10+ hours per day, 6 & 1, OT after 8hr / day or 40hr / week</p><p><u>Essential :</u> Hard-working, reliable, flexible with schedule, ability to work in physically demanding conditions</p><p><b>Requirements :</b></p><ul><li>Personal Reliable Vehicle</li><li>CSA approved steel toed boots with 6” ankle support</li></ul><p><b>Pre-employment :</b></p><ul><li>Drug and alcohol testing (swab-based test)</li><li>Successful completion of Company Orientation and site-specific orientation</li></ul><p>Reporting to the Superintendent, the job of the Survey / Field Technologist is to conduct topographical and construction surveys. Providing accurate survey data for Quantities, engineering, mapmaking, land evaluation, construction and other purposes.</p><ul><li>Conduct construction survey layout with major and minor construction projects including subdivisions, aggregate pits, mining and roadways.</li><li>Completing topographical surveys for as-builts and quantities.</li><li>Assist in preparation of as-built drawings and calculating earthwork quantities using Civil 3D.</li><li>Provide proper care and maintenance of survey gear, company truck and other equipment.</li><li>Planning, directing and conducting construction surveys. Establishing and marking work limits. Must ensure a solid understanding of, and comply with the principles of the company’s Code of Ethics. Must examine situations in light of the principles of the company’s Code of Ethics.</li><li>Participate as a vital team member, and contribute towards the success of the organization, which may involve the provision of other technical and administrative support, as required.</li><li>Promote, execute and adhere to the company’s safety program, and encourage all employees, subcontractors and consultants to adopt safety as a culture.</li><li>This is a general responsibilities list and does not include all responsibilities required of the position.</li></ul><p><b>Surveyor Qualifications :</b></p><ul><li>Completion of the Civil Engineering Technology or Geomatics Program at an accredited institution.</li><li>Must have a good working knowledge ofMicrosoft Excel, Word, AutoCAD,Civil 3D and Trimble tsc3 / tsc7</li></ul><p>Sureway Construction Group is an equal opportunity employer.
