*Salary Range:* CAD $65,000-76,000 (Salary commensurate with education and experience)

*Hours:* 0800-1600

*Job Description Summary*

The Support Services Manager, reporting to the Care Manager, oversees designated support staff in Food Service, Housekeeping, Laundry, and environmental services, ensuring leadership, supervision, and adherence to Canadian Society of Nutrition Management guidelines and relevant legislation.

Collaborating with the site’s leadership team and stakeholders, they apply infection prevention and control principles to uphold the social model of care. The role involves managing resources efficiently, monitoring staff assignments, and ensuring compliance with provincial requirements. Additionally, the Support Services Manager is accountable for staff performance evaluations, collaborates with Human Resources for recruitment and retention, and plays a crucial role in fostering a culture of safety.


· Graduation from a recognized two-year program in Food Service Supervision and Nutrition Management

· Two to three year’s recent, related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.

· Certified member of the Canadian Society of Nutrition Management (CSNM)

· Food Safe Certificate 1.

*Duties and Responsibilities*

· Formulate, execute, and assess departmental objectives, guidelines, and protocols to uphold elevated quality standards.

· Implement efficient systems to facilitate smooth facility operations in both routine and emergency scenarios.

· Ensure adherence to licensing and industry benchmarks for the provision of nutritious meals to residents.

· Cultivate communication and relationships with management, professional entities, suppliers, and the local community.

· Oversee the recruitment, scheduling, and assessment of personnel in the Food Service, Laundry, and Housekeeping departments.

· Investigate and resolve complaints pertaining to housekeeping, laundry, and dietary services.

· Conduct orientation sessions and in-service training for staff, establishing and sustaining work standards.

· Performs other related duties as assigned.
