Your New Role

As a Staff Data Engineer, you will lead the design and development of scalable data platforms and BI solutions that enable advanced analytics and decision-making. This is a senior-level role that combines Data Engineering and Business Intelligence expertise, requiring you to architect data solutions, implement governance frameworks, and build custom engineering pipelines. You'll work closely with stakeholders across the business, influencing strategy and ensuring data quality, security, and accessibility.

  • Architect and implement data lakes and data lakehouse solutions.
  • Build custom data engineering pipelines using Python, Java, and SQL.
  • Design and optimize BI frameworks for data governance, cataloging, quality, security/privacy, and data modeling/curation.
  • Develop dashboards and reporting solutions using Looker and other BI tools.
  • Manage data flow and processing using Scala and distributed systems.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to translate business needs into technical solutions.
  • Drive best practices for data architecture and engineering across the organization.


What You'll Need to Succeed

  • 10+ years of experience in Data Engineering and Business Intelligence roles.
  • Proven ability to lead and influence as a senior data leader.
  • Strong experience with data lakes, data lakehouse, and enterprise-scale data architecture.
  • Hands-on expertise in Python, Java, and SQL for building custom solutions.
  • Experience with GCP or any major cloud platform; proficiency in BigQuery.
  • BI stack knowledge: data catalog, data quality, security/privacy, data modeling/curation.
  • Familiarity with Looker, Scala-based data flow, and advanced BI frameworks.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills; ability to explain technical concepts in business terms.
  • Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills; tech-savvy and up to date with trends.
