The Role

Our Insurance Consulting group is looking for a Sr Consulting Manager to join our journey. We’re looking for someone who has experience in Property and Casualty Insurance. As a member of our team, you will be responsible for providing subject matter expertise to impact large transformation opportunities in the insurance space for multi-tower deals working across other horizontals and verticals within Cognizant
As a Sr Consulting Manager, this means leading a team of Consultants through a client-facing engagement, managing escalations, and serving as a the owner of a workstream; maintaining expertise in your domain; meaningfully contributing to the sales process through a mix of RPI development, client presentations, financial modeling, pricing strategy, and flawless delivery; creating service offerings and/or client partner training materials; and contributing to PeopleCare initiatives, recruiting, and mentoring.

Responsibilities


As a Sr Consulting Manager, you will analyze our insurance clients’ business and technology challenges and create innovative solutions to drive transformation. You will be responsible for driving the requirements analysis process, developing strong working relationships with clients and team members and building industry and domain expertise

  • Consult directly with our clients and provide advisory services designed to help them solve their most complex business and technology challenges


  • Engage with client contacts to generate leads and identify new opportunities for consulting services




  • Recognize, capture, store, and promote the sharing of engagement collateral and IP (e.g., blogs, white papers, case-studies, articles)


  • Draw conclusions from the market / industry trends, client issues and support go to market initiatives for Cognizant


  • Utilize team resources and company methodologies to present and implement strategic and technology solutions.



  • Lead communication with business partners, delivering weekly project status reporting, and strategizing priorities for timely resolution



Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Computer Science, Information Systems or similar field. Masters degree preferred


  • Minimum ten years of business experience with a strong focus on Property & Casualty insurance , particularly in rating, underwriting, and policy lifecycle processes.



  • Experience on large P&C insurance Core System transformation involving market leading solutions such as Guidewire and Duck Creek


  • Proven ability to navigate the complexities of insurance rating engines, including rate development, maintenance, and implementation across multiple lines of business.


  • Experience as a Product Owner or similar role for rating platforms, with a track record of delivering scalable and compliant rating solutions.



  • Strong grasp of end-to-end submission processes and underwriting decision-making, with the ability to translate business needs into technical requirements.


  • Skilled in conducting in-depth research and analysis (R&D) to support rating enhancements, regulatory compliance, and competitive benchmarking.


  • Adept at answering detailed questions from business and technical stakeholders regarding rating logic, methodology, and system behavior.



  • Experience with Agile Scrum software development framework preferred.



  • Ability to grasp business needs and assess impacts to complex business operations and systems.


  • Possess creative and analytic analytical skills.


  • Ability to work as part of a cross-cultural team including flexibility to support multiple time zones when necessary.



  • Willingness to travel up to 80%


  • Strong Microsoft Office skills including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Access, and Project
