<h3>Job Description</h3><p>Job Description<p><p></p><p><p><strong>Join our team as a Senior Accountant here at Torgerson Family Office!</strong><br /> </p><p><em>As a family-owned and run organization based in Alberta and British Columbia (BC), we take a family-first approach to all our services, including Construction, Property Management, U.S. Manufacturing Operations, and Independent Living for seniors in Alberta and BC.</em></p></p><br /><strong>Position Summary:</strong><strong> </strong>In this role, you are responsible for the full-cycle accounting of multiple entities, both in Canada and the United States.<br><br><strong>Compensation Range</strong><strong>: </strong><strong>$75-$85K annually</strong><br><br><strong>The following job responsibilities are essential for the success of this position:</strong><ul><li>Responsible for full cycle accounting activities, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, intercompany reconciliation, general ledger, and month-end/year-end closings.</li><li>Prepare accurate and timely financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.</li><li>Conduct financial analysis, variance analysis, and forecasting to support decision-making and strategic planning.</li><li>Ensure compliance with accounting principles, standards, and regulations, including GAAP & bank compliance report.</li><li>Review and analyze financial data to identify trends, anomalies, and areas for improvement.</li><li>Ensure all reporting and filing obligations for provincial sales tax (GST/HST/PST).</li><li>Coordinate and liaise with external auditors, tax advisors, and other professionals as required.</li><li>Assist in the development and implementation of accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls.</li><li>Participate in yearly budget and forecast process, providing insights and recommendations.</li><li>Collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to ensure effective communication and coordination of financial matters.</li><li>Stay updated on industry best practices, accounting regulations, and emerging trends.</li><li>All other duties as assigned.</li></ul><p><strong>Inventory Management</strong></p><ul><li>Oversee the manufacturing inventory process at Vantage Hemp, ensuring the accurate tracking, recording, and reconciliation of raw materials, work-in-progress (WIP), and finished goods inventory levels.</li><li>Supervise and coordinate inventory management teams, providing guidance and training to ensure compliance with best practices, company policies, and regulatory requirements.</li><li>Collaborate with production, procurement, and logistics teams to align inventory levels with production schedules and forecasted demand.</li><li>Maintain up-to-date records of material usage, waste, and production yields, ensuring proper documentation and accuracy in inventory reporting.</li><li>All other duties as assigned.</li></ul><br /><strong>Qualifications:</strong><ul><li>Bachelor’s degree focused on Accounting, Finance, or a related field is an asset.</li><li>Minimum of at least 5 years of progressive accounting experience in a similar role.</li><li>Proven experience in a similar accounting role.</li><li>Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices.</li><li>Proficiency in using Business Central 365 accounting software and Microsoft Office with advanced Excel skills.</li><li>Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.</li><li>Attention to detail and accuracy in financial reporting.</li><li>Ability to work well in a team setting and without significant supervision and under tight deadlines.</li><li>Effective communication and interpersonal skills are a must.</li><li>Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.</li><li>Strong ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.</li></ul><b>Benefits Offered:</b><ul><li>Competitive salary and performance-based bonuses.</li><li>Comprehensive health, dental, and vision insurance (employer paid) and long-term disability (employee paid).</li><li>Professional development and career growth opportunities.</li><li>Flexible work arrangements.</li><li>Family Home office environment!</li></ul><strong>Accepting Applications Until: 11/19/2025 or until position is filled</strong><p>Powered by JazzHR</p><p>TB4NrGdHew</p></p></p>Create Your Resume First
