<h3>Objectif du poste / Purpose of Role</h3>
<p>Le Génie Maritime Weir est actuellement à la recherche d’un(e) ingénieur(e) en systèmes / logiciels de niveau junior ou intermédiaire, possédant une expérience limitée en ingénierie navale et en maintenance, pour soutenir les systèmes de combat sous-marins de la Marine royale canadienne. Une connaissance organisationnelle et une expérience antérieure au sein de la division de la Gestion du programme d’équipement maritime (GPEM) du Sous-ministre adjoint (Matériels) sont bénéfiques, car le poste exige une approche collaborative avec de nombreux intervenants au sein de la GPEM et de la Marine royale canadienne. Ce poste permanent peut être basé à Gatineau (QC), LaSalle (QC) ou Halifax (N.-É.), avec des possibilités de télétravail.</p>
<p><b>Purpose of Role (English):</b> Weir Marine Engineering is currently looking for a Junior or Intermediate level Systems / Software Engineer with limited experience in naval engineering and maintenance in support of Underwater Combat systems for the Royal Canadian Navy. Some organizational knowledge and previous work experience with the Maritime Equipment Program Management (MEPM) division of Assistant Deputy Minister (Material) is beneficial, as the work requires a collaborative approach with numerous stakeholders within MEPM and the Royal Canadian Navy. This permanent position could be based either in Gatineau (QC), LaSalle (QC) or Halifax (NS) with teleworking possibilities.</p>

<h3>Key Responsibilities</h3>
<ul>
<li><b>Software Engineering:</b> Assessment and validation of the Combat System Command & Control and Underwater Data Management System software to ensure compliance with military standards for naval underwater sensor and weapons systems.</li>
<li><b>Test and Validation:</b> Provide support to the engineering and technologist team in validating system integration and software upgrades for the replacement Underwater Systems installed on Halifax-class ships. Conduct verification of integrated systems and software functionality using both simulated and live hardware signals, including specialized test equipment and onboard ship systems.</li>
<li><b>Systems Engineering:</b> Collaborate with end users to diagnose system integration and software issues, and develop tailored solutions to support the Underwater Systems engineering and project management teams.</li>
<li><b>Technical Documentation:</b> Draft or review specifications, user manuals, test plans and test reports as requested by the technical authority and project management staff.</li>
<li><b>Safety First:</b> Demonstrate 100% commitment to zero harm behaviors in support of developing a world-class safety culture.</li>

<h3>Job Knowledge / Education and Qualifications</h3>
<ul>
<li><b>Mandatory:</b> Canadian citizenship, with 10 or more years residing in Canada with no periods longer than six continuous months out of country, as part of the requirements to obtain a government security clearance to the minimum level of Secret.</li>
<li><b>Mandatory:</b> Diploma or Bachelor degree in Electrical, Software or Computer Engineering (or equivalent) with a minimum of 3 years relevant work experience.</li>
<li><b>Mandatory:</b> Knowledge of software development lifecycle, computing system integration and engineering best practices.</li>
<li><b>Desirable:</b> Experience in the defence industry or working with Naval systems.</li>
<li><b>Desirable:</b> Knowledge of test and evaluation methodologies.</li>
<li><b>Desirable:</b> Proficiency in reading, writing and speaking English, with the ability to effectively communicate at all levels (in person and electronically) with peers, supervisors and clients. Capable of drafting reports, technical correspondence and procedure manuals.</li>
