About Plannin

Plannin is a platform for creators/influencers to help them monetize their travel content & recommendations through a lifetime commission structure. We enable creators to link any travel-related content across social channels (Instagram, TikTok, Youtube) to a unique Plannin profile where their audience can book worldwide accommodations at a discounted rate. Each creator profile will showcase this embedded travel-related content on Plannin to increase social views and exposure, while also providing a powerful recommendation engine for users.

Plannin was co-founded in 2023 by two industry veterans with deep expertise in the travel space, having sold their last company to Priceline and going on to build it into one of the largest travel partner programs in the World.


We’re a 20-person team spread across Winnipeg, Manitoba and Warsaw, Poland – backed by some incredible investors – and will be launching our product in Q1 of this year. 


About the Role

As a Software Engineer at Plannin, you will play a crucial role as a key member of our founding platform development team. We are seeking a talented and experienced engineering professionals who can contribute to building our platform. This role encompasses both hands-on software engineering and leadership responsibilities. You will guide product development, contribute to system architecture, solve technical challenges, mentor other developers, and be instrumental in establishing our engineering team.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Actively contribute to the development process by writing code and implementing new features.
  • Proactively identify areas for improvement in the platform and drive the implementation of enhancements.
  • Identify and resolve technical issues and challenges to ensure a robust and reliable system.
  • Build tools and frameworks to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of other developers, promoting the overall developer experience (DX) within the company.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define new feature development and align priorities across the organization.
  • Contribute to the product roadmap by providing insights and suggestions for new features and improvements.
  • Evaluate, propose, and prototype new technologies and architectures to address evolving business needs.
  • Mentor and guide other developers to enhance their skills and increase overall team productivity.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices to bring innovative solutions to the development process.
  • Help establish and maintain a culture of high-quality code, test-driven development (TDD), and well-written tests.

Experience & Skills You’ll Bring to the Team

  • 3+ years of hands-on software engineering experience, with a strong focus on Ruby or similar languages.
  • 2+ years of hands-on experience with React.
  • 3+ years of web application development experience.
  • Experience in designing REST and tRPC APIs.
  • Full-stack experience with TypeScript, React/Next.js, Node.js, Postgres, Git, and AWS (or similar and comparable technologies).
  • Experience with distributed systems is a plus.
  • Previous experience in complex platform development.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.


The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing high-quality applications. They will also be responsible for designing and implementing testable and scalable code.
