We are looking for a Social Worker to join our EarlyPsychosis InterventionTeam!


Reporting to the Program Manager, EPI the Social Worker will work within a multi-disciplinary team, providing recovery-oriented support to individuals aged 1435 experiencing a first episode of psychosis, for a duration of up to three years. You will be responsible for the assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of clinical care within the Early Psychosis Intervention (EPI) program.

The Early Psychosis Intervention (EPI) program provides standardized, evidence-based treatment through a coordinated care model – the NAVIGATE Program for Early Psychosis Intervention.

This position specifically focuses on the Supported Education and Employment (SEE) component of NAVIGATE, helping clients pursue educational and vocational goals as part of their recovery journey.

Status: Permanent full-time, 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday. Note, this posting is for an active vacancy.



Salary:$66,097.08 – $77,761.28 annually. (Candidate qualifications will be considered when determining the starting salary)


Location:This position is based out of 60 West Dr, Brampton. Although we operate within a hybrid workplace model, staff are required to have on-site and/or community presence as per program and client needs.



What You Will Do:

  • Establish supportive, recovery-oriented relationships with clients, providing assessment, psychoeducation, and case management support to clients, their families, and support systems.

  • Collaborate within a multi-disciplinary team and with EPI partners to ensure coordinated and comprehensive care.

  • Support clients in developing education and employment goals aligned with their interests; assist with job placement or enrollment in educational programs and provide follow-along support to promote success.

  • Develop individualized holistic crisis plans in collaboration with clients and their supports to maintain wellness.

  • Create and implement recovery plans to guide goal-setting and support progress toward recovery.

  • Assist clients in identifying and working toward educational, vocational, and life skill development goals.

  • Consult, advocate, and liaise with community partners to support clients in achieving their goals.

  • Monitor mental health and apply appropriate interventions to promote stability and well-being.

  • Provide support with Community Treatment Orders and ongoing legal matters as required.

  • Participate in case conferences, advocating for coordinated care and comprehensive support.

  • Complete referrals and collaborate with internal and external teams, including post-graduation follow-up.

  • Maintain accurate documentation, client records, statistics, and outcome measures in accordance with CMHA Peel Dufferin policies and procedures.

  • Plan and facilitate psychoeducation groups and social/recreational activities.

  • Contribute to program development, quality improvement initiatives, and research and educational activities.

  • Training in DBT and CBT modalities is considered an asset.

What You Need to Join Our Team:

  • University degree in Social Work or a health-related field. BSW preferred.

  • Regulated Health Professional designation is an asset (i.e.OCSWSSW).

  • At least 3 years of experience providing case management to adults living with serious mental illness

  • Sound knowledge of psycho-social rehabilitation, crisis intervention, understanding of addiction/concurrent issues and its impact on this population, recovery principles, groups, trauma-informed care, severe and persistent mental illness, especially schizophrenia; and primary mood disorders with psychosis

  • Solid experience in a mental health/addiction setting and in completing psychosocial assessments and facilitating groups as appropriate for the first episode psychosis clients

  • Knowledge of community supports and resources, especially with regards to education and employment

  • Demonstrated ability to intervene effectively in clinical situations and possess effective decision-making and problem solving skills

  • Strong interpersonal skills with proven ability to approach, listen, build trust, and communicate across diverse cultures and intersectionality. Willingness to continually improve understanding around cultural competence

  • Willingness to learn and apply practical understanding of different elements of diversity, such as gender identity/expression, race/cultural background, religion, sexual orientation, disability, immigration and precarious status, family status, etc.

  • Openness to operate from an anti-racist, anti-oppressive, 2SLGBTQ+ affirming and intersectional framework

  • Fluency in a second language, including ASL (American Sign Language) is considered an asset

  • Valid Canadian drivers license and access to an insured automobile in good repair

  • Satisfactory Vulnerable Sector Screening (Police Check) report
