Partnered with retirement homes and long-term care facilities across Nova Scotia, work is practically guaranteed.</p><p><br /></p><p><strong>Title: </strong>Care Companion</p><p><strong>Pay: </strong>$18-22/hr</p><p><strong>Schedule: </strong>12 hour shifts, Casual, Day and night shifts</p><p><br /></p><p><strong>We offer:</strong><strong></strong></p><ul><li>Competitive pay</li><li>Paid orientation and training</li><li>Overtime pay</li><li>Growth opportunities</li><li>Flexible schedule</li></ul><p><br /></p><p><strong>Responsibilities:</strong></p><ul><li>Provide items of comfort, sit with residents, and have purposeful conversations</li><li>Supervise residents at all times</li><li>Report on any issues or concerns related to the residents safety</li><li>Escort residents around facility in wheelchairs and/or assist with mobility</li><li>Intervene when needed to prevent physical harm to residents</li><li>Promote a positive and safe environment for residents in the overall facility</li><li>Maintain and assist with the privacy and dignity of each and every resident</li></ul><p><br /></p><p><strong>Qualifications:</strong></p><ul><li>High school diploma or equivalent</li><li>Clear criminal record and vulnerable sector check<br /></li><li>NVCI certification is Required</li><li>Adaptability with an ability to act calmly and swiftly under pressure</li><li>Strong observation skills</li><li>Experience in geriatric is an asset</li><li>Training and certification in crisis prevention or similar is an asset</li><li>CCA and LPN Students are also welcome to apply</li><li>Ex-CCA will also be considered for this position</li></ul><p><br /></p><p>We encourage individuals with a variety of different health and support service industries to apply!</p></p></p>
