Shift Supervisor – Fabrication & Packaging

Location: Brampton, ON
Shift: Continental Day / Night Rotation

  • Days: 5:55 AM – 6:10 PM

  • Nights: 5:55 PM – 6:10 AM

Compensation:

  • $70-$75k annual

  • 84 hours bi-weekly

  • Overtime paid after 80 hours

What You’ll Do

As the Shift Supervisor – Fabrication & Packaging, you will be responsible for balancing people, equipment, and materials on shift to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality production. You will work closely with Fabrication and Packaging Leads, Maintenance, Shipping, and Quality teams to keep operations running smoothly while building a strong, engaged workforce.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead by example in alignment with established core values

  • Actively supervise on the floor—coaching, supporting, and holding employees accountable

  • Lead, motivate, and inspire a team of approximately 40 direct reports

  • Ensure shift productivity targets are met while maintaining safety and quality standards

  • Review daily production requirements and communicate plans clearly to the team

  • Monitor fabrication and packaging operations, ensuring proper instructions and quality checks are followed

  • Identify skill gaps, provide coaching, and support employee development and career progression

  • Promote a positive, respectful, and collaborative work environment

  • Conduct daily shift handovers covering WIP, staffing, priorities, NCRs, and equipment status

  • Coordinate manpower coverage, manage attendance, and approve timesheets in Dayforce

  • Work closely with Maintenance to report equipment issues and ensure work orders are entered

  • Participate in incident investigations, NCR root cause analysis, and corrective actions

  • Ensure first-offs are completed and quality standards are consistently met

  • Support cross-training, continuous improvement, and housekeeping standards

  • Set the next shift up for success through clear communication, material readiness, and cleanliness

  • Perform other duties as assigned

What You Bring

Experience & Education

  • Post-secondary diploma or degree in a technical field preferred, or equivalent experience

  • Minimum 5 years of leadership experience in a manufacturing environment

  • Experience in aluminum, metal manufacturing, fabrication, or machining preferred
    (open to other manufacturing industries such as plastics, consumer goods, building materials, or food)

Technical & Leadership Skills

  • Strong, people-focused leadership style with a continuous improvement mindset

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Proven ability to coach, develop, and engage teams

  • Solid understanding of manufacturing operations, safety, and quality systems

  • Ability to read measurements, tolerances, and basic geometry (blueprint reading an asset)

  • Strong problem-solving, planning, and decision-making skills

  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel

  • Familiarity with systems such as EPICS is an asset

  • Health & Safety certification is an asset
