Description
We are seeking an experienced Front-End SharePoint Designer to revitalize our existing SharePoint 2019 (on-premises) environment.
This role focuses on enhancing the user interface, improving search functionality, introducing new features, and providing strategic guidance to optimize SharePoint usage across the organization.
Responsibilities.
U UI/UX Redesign & Branding
- Redesign and modernize the SharePoint 2019 user interface to align with current design standards.
- Implement responsive, mobile-friendly layouts using HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript.
- Develop custom themes, master pages, and page layouts to ensure a cohesive and branded user experience.
- Utilize SharePoint Designer and SharePoint Framework (SPFx) for customization and branding.
Enhanced Search Functionality
- Optimize SharePoint search capabilities to improve content discoverability at both the page and global site levels.
- Implement refiners, metadata tagging, and custom search results pages.
- Integrate Microsoft Search and other relevant tools to enhance search performance.
Feature Enhancement & User Experience
- Identify and introduce new SharePoint features or functionalities that benefit end-users.
- Develop and deploy custom web parts, workflows, and forms using SPFx, Power Automate, and SharePoint Designer.
- Ensure accessibility and usability standards are met across all SharePoint sites.
Strategic Guidance & Best Practices
- Provide recommendations on best practices for SharePoint 2019 deployment and usage.
- Offer guidance on governance, security, and compliance within the SharePoint environment.
- Assist in planning for the adoption of SharePoint Subscription Edition (SE), including content understanding and AI-driven capabilities.
Basic Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of experience in SharePoint design and development, with a strong portfolio of front-end customizations.
- Proficiency in HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, and modern front-end frameworks.
- Experience with SharePoint Designer, SPFx
- Solid understanding of SharePoint 2019/SE architecture, including lists, libraries, content types, and permissions.
- Experience in implementing and customizing SharePoint search functionalities.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication skills to interact with stakeholders and end-users effectively
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with SharePoint SE and AI-based content services.
- Familiarity with Microsoft 365 ecosystem and integration with SharePoint.
- Knowledge of accessibility standards and responsive design principles.
- SharePoint certifications (e.g., Microsoft Certified: SharePoint Developer Associate) are a plus
