Senior Technologist - IT & Cybersecurity (MSP/MSSP)
Location: Hybrid in Calgary, AB REMOTE - MUST BE IN ALBERTA
Type: Full-Time Reports to CEO
About the Opportunity
We're working with a cybersecurity-focused Managed Services & Solutions Provider (MSSP) supporting clients across regulated sectors including legal, finance, healthcare, and energy.
This role is ideal for a senior MSP technologist, Project Lead, or team lead who thrives on delivering complex projects-cloud migrations, network modernizations, VoIP rollouts, and cybersecurity implementations. You'll own technical outcomes from planning to delivery, coordinate with clients and internal teams, and continually improve automation and efficiency through scripting and AI tools.

Key Responsibilities
Project Delivery & Implementation
- Lead end-to-end client projects, including migrations, infrastructure builds, and stack deployments.
- Plan scopes, manage timelines, and ensure deliverables meet client and security standards.
- Collaborate directly with clients to communicate progress, manage expectations, and document clearly.
Systems & Network Engineering
- Deploy and optimize Microsoft 365, Azure, and Windows Server environments.
- Implement and manage 3CX VoIP systems, Ubiquiti, Meraki, and Fortinet networks.
- Maintain secure connectivity (VLANs, VPNs, firewalls) and ensure resilience across environments.
Cybersecurity & Automation
- Support EDR/SOC tooling (Defender, RocketCyber, SentinelOne, or similar).
- Perform patching, endpoint protection, and risk-based hardening of client environments.
- Use PowerShell, Python, or workflow tools like Rewst, Zapier, N8N, Microsoft Copilot, and ChatGPT to automate repetitive work and optimize operations.
Collaboration & Documentation
- Work closely with internal technicians, vendors, and the SOC to deliver seamless outcomes.
- Maintain detailed records in IT Glue, ClickUp, and PSA/RMM systems (Kaseya, Datto, etc.).
- Contribute to process improvement and standardization within the service stack.
What You Bring
- 5+ years in an MSP or MSSP environment handling project implementation or Tier 3 systems work.
- Hands-on expertise across:
- Microsoft 365 & Azure administration
- Networking and security (Ubiquiti, Meraki, Fortinet)
- VoIP deployment (3CX)
- RMM/PSA and EDR/SOC tools
- Practical scripting or automation experience (PowerShell, Python, or equivalent).
- Excellent communication and documentation habits; strong client-facing presence.
- Calm, organized, and accountable-someone who finishes what they start.
Nice to Have
- Familiarity with cybersecurity frameworks (NIST, CIS, ISO 27001).
- Microsoft, CompTIA, Cisco, or 3CX certifications.
- Exposure to AI-driven service automation or governance.
