<p><h3>Senior Structural Engineer – Discipline Lead</h3><p>Location: Toronto or Vancouver.</p>
<p>Our client is an engineering consultancy supporting major mining and industrial developments, seeking <b>Senior Structural Engineer</b> to act as discipline lead for ongoing and upcoming projects.</p>
<h3>Base pay range</h3>
<p>CA$100,000.00/yr – CA$135,000.00/yr</p>
<h3>Responsibilities</h3>
<ul>
<li>Lead the structural discipline for major mining and industrial projects.</li>
<li>Conduct site investigations and prepare design recommendations.</li>
<li>Review and design structural components including steel, concrete, and building envelope systems.</li>
<li>Develop concept studies, quantity estimates, and preliminary layouts.</li>
<li>Perform detailed analysis and member sizing with supporting calculations.</li>
<li>Oversee design documentation, drawing packages, and tendering deliverables.</li>
<li>Coordinate with internal design teams and other disciplines.</li>
<li>Provide cost estimating input, technical review, and QA/QC oversight.</li>
<li>Ensure design compliance with applicable Canadian and American codes.</li>
<li>Prepare and review technical reports and specifications.</li>
<li>Support project execution, contract administration, and budget management.</li>
<li>Liaise with clients, vendors, and contractors; participate in presentations and site visits.</li>
</ul>
<h3>Qualifications</h3>
<ul>
<li>Bachelor’s Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.</li>
<li>P.Eng. registration in Canada.</li>
<li>10+ years of progressive structural design experience, primarily in <b>mining or heavy industrial sectors</b>.</li>
<li>Proven ability to lead teams and seal structural drawing packages.</li>
<li>Strong understanding of <b>structural steel, concrete foundations, brace connections</b>, and <b>mill foundation design</b>.</li>
<li>Familiar with structural analysis software such as <b>RISA</b>, <b>Advanced Steel</b>, and <b>BIM tools</b> (software proficiency is flexible).</li>
<li>Solid grasp of both <b>Canadian and American codes</b>.</li>
<li>Excellent communication and leadership skills; able to guide multidisciplinary teams.</li>
<li>Willingness to travel for site reviews and inspections.</li>
</ul>
