<p>Senior Structural Engineer - Mass Timber & Modular Construction</p><p><br></p><p>Salary Range: $125K - $155K</p><p><br></p><p>Location: Remote (Preference for Vancouver, BC or anywhere in the U.S. or Canada)</p><p>Employment Type: Full-time</p><p><br></p><p>About the Role</p><p><br></p><p>We are seeking a Senior Structural Engineer with expertise in mass timber design and connection systems to lead innovative projects across North America. This role is ideal for a seasoned professional who thrives on solving complex structural challenges and shaping the future of sustainable construction.</p><p><br></p><p>Key Responsibilities</p><p><br></p><ul><li>Assist client structural design for mass timber and modular systems (CLT, glulam, LVL, NLT/DLT), utilizing KNAPP Mass Timber and Modular connectors</li><li>Engineer connections and fasteners: concealed connectors, steel plate assemblies, glued-in rods, self-tapping screws, dowels, and hybrid timber-steel interfaces.</li><li>Perform advanced analysis and design per U.S. and Canadian codes (IBC/NBC, ASCE 7/NBCC, AWC NDS/SDPWS, CSA O86).</li><li>Address timber-specific performance criteria: fire resistance, vibration, moisture, creep, and differential movement.</li><li>Prepare and review calculations, drawings, and specifications; provide construction administration and site support.</li><li>Collaborate with client engineers, architects, fabricators, and contractors to ensure constructability and CNC-friendly detailing.</li><li>Mentor junior engineers and contribute to internal standards and best practices.</li><li>Lead ICC certification and testing projects with consulting engineers </li><li>Participate in new product development for next-generation connection systems</li></ul><p><br></p><p>Qualifications</p><p><br></p><ul><li>Experience: 5-10+ years in structural engineering with at least 5 years in lead design roles; proven expertise in mass timber connections and fasteners.</li><li>Licensure: PE or SE (U.S.) and/or P.Eng.
