The Last Mile team works with stakeholders to identify challenges and deliver solutions that delight development teams and improve daily workflows.</p><p>This role can be based out of our Toronto office or remotely in the Ontario region.</p><h3>Responsibilities</h3><ul><li>Collaborate with teams across the organization to understand their most pressing challenges and create solutions that address their needs.</li><li>Develop a broad, high-level understanding of core systems used to build MongoDB products and help navigate and resolve issues that span multiple teams.</li><li>Build tools to be used across the development lifecycle to help teams work faster and ship higher quality products.</li><li>Provide internal support for our systems, answering questions and addressing technical issues as they arise.</li><li>Provide guidance and mentorship to junior team members, fostering their technical growth and problem-solving confidence.</li></ul><h3>Qualifications</h3><ul><li>4+ years of experience working on software or software systems.</li><li>Strong customer focus, with the ability to identify and understand core customer challenges, even when not clearly expressed.</li><li>Ability to quickly learn, adapt to, and excel with new technologies, frameworks, and tools in dynamic environments.</li><li>Experience working in Python.</li><li>Experience working with compiled languages (the team interacts with, but does not primarily write, C++ and Go).</li><li>Experience designing and building tools used by other developers, including web-based tools, APIs, and/or command line tools.</li><li>Experience shipping systems in cloud environments (e.g., Kubernetes and AWS) and understanding provisioning and deployment concepts.</li></ul><h3>Expectations</h3><ul><li>Collaborate with teams across the organization to understand their challenges and create solutions that address their needs.</li><li>Develop a broad, high-level understanding of core systems used to build MongoDB products and help navigate issues that span multiple teams.</li><li>Build tools to accelerate development workflows and improve product quality.</li><li>Provide internal support for our systems and address technical questions as they arise.</li><li>Mentor junior team members and support their technical growth.</li></ul><h3>Success</h3><ul><li>Three Months: contribute to in-progress software projects, provide design feedback, and work on small features and bugs; participate in planning for larger projects.</li><li>Six Months: lead or majorly contribute to substantial development projects; become a subject matter expert across some systems.</li><li>One Year: lead or major contribute to technical projects with broad impact; mentor newer team members and guide technical direction.</li></ul><h3>Benefits and Equity</h3><p>MongoDB is committed to a supportive and enriching culture with programs including employee affinity groups, fertility assistance, and generous parental leave. Compensation is determined by factors such as skill set, experience, qualifications, and location.
