<h3>Job Description</h3>
<p>We are recruiting for <b>Senior Piping Designer</b> in Ottawa, ON and/or St. John’s, NL.</p>
<p><b>Responsibilities include but are not limited to:</b></p>
<ul><li>Develop 3D product models for ship piping and ancillary systems for new ship construction and refit projects</li><li>Interpret technical, detail design and construction drawings related to systems design</li><li>Develop specifications, sketches, requirements, and technical drawings</li><li>Develop 3D model in Ship Constructor, Aveva or other software as required</li><li>Review of production outputs, ex: spool packages to ensure correctness of the 3D model and associated deliverables are compliant with specifications and standards;</li><li>Support technical discussions for project reviews</li><li>Support and assist in the development of less experienced team members; and</li><li>Additional duties and responsibilities may be assigned based on qualifications and years of experience of applicant.</li></ul>
<p><b>Qualifications:</b></p>
<p>Experience</p>
<ul><li>Bachelor’s degree or associate degree; OR the equivalent combination of education, technical training, or work experience and at least 8 years related experience</li><li>Modelling and drafting experience in the marine environment producing functional and detail piping models and drawings</li><li>Production Drawings including piping isometrics, spools and pipe support design, modelling and detailing</li><li>Pipe routing using Industry and Project standards</li><li>Engineering and Design drawings including 2D layouts, Spec Review and Requirements definitions</li><li>AutoCad, ShipConstructor</li><li>Experience with Aveva E3D and/or PDMs would be an asset</li><li>Experience working within a shipyard would be an asset</li><li>Experience and understanding of Cats and Specs would be and asset</li></ul>
<p>Skills/Abilities</p>
<ul><li>Ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines; flexible, resourceful and efficient</li><li>Excellent verbal and written communication skills, presentation and interpersonal skills</li><li>Must be able to work within a team environment to support project completion</li><li>Thorough understanding of quality and continuous improvement</li><li>Decision making skills and problem solving considered an asset</li><li>Eligibility for enrollment into Controlled Goods Program</li><li>Eligible Canadian Security Status (Secret or above)</li></ul>
