<p><h3>Overview</h3><p>Senior Finance Business Partner role at Specsavers. Location: Burnaby, BC (hybrid role: 3 days on-site, 2 days remote per week).</p>
<h3>What You’ll Do</h3>
<p>The Senior Finance Business Partner provides financial planning and analysis to the Canadian business. Partners with Commercial and Product leaders to support effective decision making and the financial development of commercial operations in Canada. Ensures accuracy and timely preparation of financial reporting and delivers insights, analyses, and tools to help business units meet financial objectives and align with the company strategy.</p>
<h3>Key Responsibilities</h3>
<ul>
<li><b>Budgeting & Forecasting</b>
<ul>
<li>Collaborate with department leaders to develop and maintain detailed annual budgets and forecasts aligned with priorities</li>
<li>Analyse historical performance to identify trends and provide insights for future expectations</li>
<li>Support operational forecasting and planning as required</li>
</ul>
</li>
<li><b>Financial Analysis</b>
<ul>
<li>Collaborate with Data and other teams to provide single-source-of-truth analyses for Product and Retail</li>
<li>Assess how changes to product range affect profitability and report to leadership</li>
<li>Conduct variance analysis against budget/forecast and recommend improvements</li>
<li>Evaluate financial impact of initiatives and support decision-making</li>
<li>Support business cases and post-mortem analyses</li>
</ul>
</li>
<li><b>KPI Monitoring</b>
<ul>
<li>Develop standardized dashboard reporting for the Canadian estate</li>
<li>Track and analyze KPIs for Product and Retail; identify improvement opportunities</li>
<li>Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement KPI optimization strategies</li>
</ul>
</li>
<li><b>Financial Modelling</b>
<ul>
<li>Build and maintain complex models for strategic planning and scenario analysis</li>
<li>Perform sensitivity analyses to assess impacts of factors</li>
</ul>
</li>
<li><b>Reporting</b>
<ul>
<li>Prepare monthly financial reports, analyze variances, and monitor key metrics</li>
<li>Identify trends, risks, opportunities, and support strategic trade-offs</li>
<li>Assist in developing executive-level presentations for stakeholders</li>
</ul>
</li>
<ul>
<li>Act as a trusted advisor to Commercial and Product leaders on performance, risks, and opportunities</li>
<li>Develop and maintain an internal network for financial input on key decisions</li>
<li>Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather data and incorporate insights into plans</li>
<li>Provide training to develop financial acumen and accountability</li>
</ul>
</li>
<li><b>Continuous Improvement</b>
<ul>
<li>Identify opportunities to improve FP&A processes and drive efficiency</li>
</ul>
</li>
</ul>
<h3>Essential Skills & Qualifications</h3>
<ul>
<li>Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation or equivalent</li>
<li>7+ years of accounting/finance experience, including 4+ years in FP&A</li>
<li>Experience partnering with commercial decision-makers and senior management</li>
<li>Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; ability to distill complex data into clear messages</li>
<li>Advanced Excel skills; comfortable with large data sets</li>
<li>Strong presentation skills for communicating with upper management</li>
<li>Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with competing priorities</li>
</ul>
<h3>Desirable Skills</h3>
<ul>
<li>Experience in retail FP&A or accounting</li>
<li>Experience implementing and championing corporate performance management systems</li>
<li>Interest in mentoring junior team members</li>
</ul>
<h3>Compensation & Benefits</h3>
<ul>
<li>Base salary: $100,000 – $120,000, plus quarterly bonus, profit sharing, and benefits. Actual pay based on experience</li>
