<p><b>Civil Senior Estimators, apply now!</b></p><p>Reporting to the Estimating Manager, you will prepare detailed cost estimates using estimating software of the full project scope including labour, equipment, raw materials, purchased equipment and subcontractors. Tender closings are to meet all submission deadlines.</p><p><br></p><p><b>What You'll Do:</b></p><ul><li>Accurately interpret and comprehend tender drawings and specifications for all projects up to $1 Billion.</li><li>Present all aspects of the project scope, staging, timing, constraints, risks, and potential cost saving opportunities and alternatives to internal staff</li><li>Able to successfully and independently lead a Design-Build project through the tender stage, including involvement in team meetings</li><li>Ability to chair meetings and set project goals</li><li>Perform and/or direct quantity take-offs from tender drawings.</li><li>Prepare initial tender schedule for handoff to field staff.</li><li>Consistently and insightfully formulate all tender costs-labour, material, equipment, and procure subcontractor scope and costs-for quotation submission.</li><li>Close tenders-including tender reviews and sub-proposal reviews and analysis.</li><li>Accountable for accuracy of tender submissions.</li><li>Prepares bid bond and insurance request forms</li><li>Maintain files and correspondence on active tenders.</li><li>Customer follow-up on submitted tenders/proposals.</li><li>Cost out potential scope of work changes/additional cost/claims situations.</li><li>Monitor active projects and provide job cost evaluation to management.</li><li>Provide technical support to field staff.</li><li>Communicate with field staff and Clients.</li><li>Assist in maintenance of estimating department policies, procedures and standards.</li><li>Mentorship of junior employees.</li><li>Other duties as assigned by supervisor.</li></ul><p><br></p><p>Prior experience estimating various <b>civil/municipal/MTO</b> projects is vital to the success of this role.</p><p><br></p><p><b>What We're Looking For:</b></p><ul><li>University Degree - Civil Engineering or College Graduate - Civil Technology preferred.</li><li>Minimum 7-10 years' experience in the construction industry, with 7+ years' experience in estimating.</li><li>Direct experience in Design-Build estimates and team processes.</li><li>Experience using a commercial bidding platform (In Eight Estimate preferable)</li><li>Capable of reading and understanding construction drawings and documents.</li><li>Computer proficiency - proficiency in an estimating package is a must, and Word and Excel would be an asset.</li><li>Thorough understanding OPSS and CDED.</li><li>Results-driven with an ability to deliver success in a fast-paced environment.</li><li>Outcome focused, critical thinker with the ability to analyze and visualize to ensure continuous improvement across our business.</li><li>Ability to connect and interact with people to seek different perspectives.</li><li>Valid driver's license.</li><li>Experience with <b>MTO contracts and/or municipal</b> works.</li></ul><p><br></p><p><b>Perks & Benefits:</b></p><ul><li>Competitive Salary Structure</li><li>Incentive Programs</li><li>Comprehensive Benefits packages</li><li>Pension Contributions</li><li>Employee Discounts</li><li>Professional Development</li><li>Employee Engagement Events</li></ul><p></p>
