The Senior Engagement Specialist, Integration is responsible for successfully managing and monitoring the progression and promotion of provincial electronic health records (EHR) integration initiatives in support of primary-care clinicians and other community delivery partners. This role is accountable for developing and maintaining productive relationships with OntarioMD (OMD) Certified EMR vendors and other key stakeholders in relation to the delivery of technology integration initiatives.

Reporting to the Manager, Integration Partnerships, this role will:

1) Establish and maintain key relationships with internal and external clients, stakeholders, and partners.

  • Fosters and facilitates productive working relationships as a primary point of contact for day-to-day interactions.
  • Appropriately manages client expectations in alignment with organizational and/or portfolio capacity and capabilities.
  • Assists clients to navigate OMD internal processes, including both contracts and escalations.

2) In collaboration with internal partners (e.g., OMD Legal, OMD Certification), is highly engaged the development and management of agreements, statements of work (SOWs), and /or memorandum of understanding.

  • Accountable for the creation, execution, and management of legal agreements (e.g., statements of work) with key partners.

3) Manage and monitor the successful delivery of EHR integration initiatives from conception through ongoing operations.

  • In collaboration with project resources, will lead the successful delivery of EMR-EHR integration projects, including definition, planning, documentation, execution, and reporting.
  • Is responsible for the ongoing success of established integration services, including product and service enhancements.
  • In collaboration with internal partners, will lead and manage the development of communications activities, including but not limited to campaigns, FAQs, etc.
  • Represents project and/or service progression, risks, mitigations, and opportunities internally across the organization and for appropriate external publication.

4) Contribute to organizational successes through current and emerging initiatives that align with OMD’s strategic plan and provincial funding agreement.

  • Collaborates with clients to understand their strategic priorities, risks, and dependencies; and explores how these may align with OMD’s strategic goals.
  • Ensures EHR-EMR integration initiatives remain aligned to organizational strategic plan, corporate principles, and operational processes.
  • Responsible for the achievement of assigned deliverables under OMD’s provincial funding agreement.
  • Collaborates with internal delivery partners as determined (e.g., Certification Program, Products & Services).
  • Explores, assesses, and internally represents new business opportunities.

Requirements that are important to us:

  • Post-secondary education in Business Administration, Health Administration and/or Information Technology, or equivalent experience.
  • Broad understanding of, and experience in the Ontario digital health care sector, with emphasis on EMR landscape and integration with Ontario EHR Solutions and Services is an asset.
  • Minimum of five (5) years experience building and maintaining productive working relationships with stakeholders, client management and/or partners in the provincial health system.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience leading provincial digital health integration projects through their development lifecycles in a complex, multi-stakeholder healthcare environment.
  • Demonstrated experience with contract management, including the development and management of agreements, statements of work (SOWs), and /or memorandum of understanding.
  • Experience and familiarity with community-based healthcare IT solutions (e.g., EMRs).
  • Experience and familiarity with healthcare IT solutions for other care delivery settings is an asset.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a dynamic / fast paced environment, establish priorities, and meet tight deadlines.
  • Experience engaging with project teams and has a general understanding of project environments.
  • Equally effective working independently or as part of a team in a dynamic environment with changing priorities.
  • Excellent written communication and oral presentation skills, including the ability to adapt to the needs of a variety of audiences.
  • Excellent people skills, including the ability to influence, negotiate and achieve results.
  • In-depth working knowledge of a variety of office automation tools including Microsoft Office suite (e.g., Word, Outlook, Excel, Power Point, Visio, and Project).
