Agilus is recruiting for a Senior Drafter in the Façade Industry in Toronto, Ontario.

Lead and manage cladding exterior projects, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and leverage Autodesk Inventor to enhance design processes. Drive sustainable architecture with innovative products.



A typical day:

  • Lead and manage cladding exterior projects from panel layout to installation, ensuring strict adherence to design criteria, project timelines, and requirements
  • Collaborate with internal teams, including engineers, project managers, and manufacturing teams, to ensure the successful execution of projects
  • Conduct on-site visits and assessments to gather information, evaluate existing structures, and propose design recommendations
  • Create detailed shop drawings, panel layouts, connection details, bills of materials, installation manuals, production orders, cut sheets, and assembly drawings using industry-standard software and tools
  • Leverage proficiency in Autodesk Inventor to automate design processes, enhancing team efficiency and accuracy
  • Collaborate closely with clients, architects, and engineers to understand project requirements and translate them into tangible projects
  • Provide technical guidance to design team members, fostering their professional growth and development
  • Stay updated on the latest architectural and sustainable design trends, materials, and technologies, incorporating them into design proposals

Successful candidates will have:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Architecture or a related field
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in building envelope design, with a focus on sustainable and energy-efficient building envelope solutions, claddings, and prefabricated wall panel systems
  • Proficiency in architectural design software such as AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp, or similar tools
  • Proficiency in Autodesk Inventor software is highly advantageous, as it will facilitate the automation of our design processes and enhance team efficiency
  • Strong knowledge of sustainable design principles, rainscreen principles, and precast panel principles
  • Excellent understanding of building codes, regulations, and industry standards
  • Demonstrated experience leading and managing projects, from shop drawings to installation
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including project management and production teams
